Ok, this is my first topic here.

Ladies and gentlemans, I just decide now (01:26 AM) to make my first scenario, about the Epsiode 1 of Dikiyoba's story.

So, I'm looking for tips. Any kind of help will be appreciated, even link to guides (I searched a bit, but nope).

My first problem is the benginning. I cannot set the outdoor's value... Help!

(Btw, is possibile that I can make a scenario, even if I almost never really played the Avernum Series?)

May I just add that Project Dikiyoba is the coolest name for any scenario project I have ever seen.

Also that turning that script into a scenario would be kind of difficult. Certainly not what I'd be able to do, in my first scenario...

You may be well right, but, at least, I want to try. Even it will take a lot of time.

...

Ok, I admit it, this is even more impulsive than GF3 tranlation. But this time I don't want to give up so easily.

Why?

Do you know how much work a scenario is? How much time? Nevermind one of that size.

And you plan to waste all of this effort on the worthless dweebs on these boards? What is wrong with you?

On the plus side, it doesn't involve Rentar-Ihrno creating a bunch of monster plagues to destroy the Empire, or any close variation on that theme.

Um. Wow. Um.

Since you don't have much, if any, experience, I'd suggest starting off very, very small. Practice designing towns and writing dialogue first so that you know what you're doing.

Dikiyoba.

Edit: Typo.

1) Ignore TM.

2) As was said, start very small. Start with, like, the smallest part of the story that you can and make that first. It will suck, but that's okay, because it's your first scenario.

Uh, ok, I'll try. What values I should use?

If by values you mean the number of towns/outdoor sections and that kind of thing, the answer depend on what you decide to make. As examples Xerch'de uses 4 towns and no outdoors, babysitting uses 4 towns and one simple outdoor section, and A Good Beginning uses only 3 towns and one outdoor section. That's certainly the size range to aim for on a first try, but the exact choices you make will necessarily depend on the idea you have for the scenario.

You want to start small, so leave it at 0 and 0. This will give you one outdoor section to mess around with. If you have the 3D Editor, you can add more later.

If you have a Mac, I suggest getting the 3D editor if you cannot handle the barebones editor Jeff provides.

I have not read all of Dikiyoba's story, but from what I have seen, it will involve a lot of side characters, random creatures, and plenty of in-personality dialogue.

The 3D Editor is available in Mac and Windows flavors, so it's useful either way. Check it out here.

EDIT: Which reminds me that it's about time to prod KernelKnowledge again.

Of course, if you make a scenario after a crappy fanfiction by an obsessive board member, you're already well on your way.

Making tasteless crap out of other crap is the essence of good comedy.

EDIT: In case it was not clear, this is an encouragement to Mag.
