Does anyone know if Paladins from the AD&D world will be possible to create? The trait Divinely Touched comes close, but they also get additional resistances and bonuses. There is already a graphic for him in the Avernum folder, I believe it is a royal guard from Av1. Also, would it be possible to create other charcter classes, or even races, such as halflings? This would greatly help with my scenario. Thanks! [ Monday, February 09, 2004 02:52: Message edited by: SupaNik ] -------------------- And when you want to Live How do you start? Where do you go? Now *that* could be cool... y'know, 10 + 1-7/level bonus against undead or something... You may be only able to do that with items though. -------------------- Awesome BoA Graphics MSN: bleusoulilcercatore@hotmail.com AIM: Byzantine Jones Posts: 635 | Registered: Monday, October 15 2001 07:00 |

Since there are no real character classes in any Exile or Avernum game, a paladin class is rather unlikely. And no new races. -------------------- Barcoorah: I even did it to a big dorset ram. desperance.net - Don't follow this link Posts: 1798 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Some paladin abilities will be possible to create through the use of scripts and special equipment, but Avernum and D&D are too dissimilar to have real class counterparts. If you want a halfling, supply the graphics with your scenario, inform the player that he or she is playing with at least one halfling, and have the scenario make reference to those PC halflings. —Alorael, who finds that far less unlikely than TM's rakshasa parties. Or his whole set of rakshasa theories, for that matter. They have even less basis than vahnatai creationism, and that's saying something. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Oh, you'll certainly be able to apply abilities similar to that on items, but as far as building into the character, no. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

So what about character traits? Will they be there. And if so, would it be possible to tweak one? -------------------- And when you want to Live How do you start? Where do you go? Yes, they're still there. No, you can't edit them. -------------------- "At times discretion should be thrown aside, and with the foolish we should play the fool." - Menander ==== Drakefyre's Demesne - Happy Happy Joy Joy Encyclopedia Ermariana - Trapped in the Closet ==== You can take my Mac when you pry my cold, dead fingers off the mouse! Thanks. Will I be able to edit item stats then? -------------------- And when you want to Live How do you start? Where do you go? Who do you need to know? *Name by Slarty, so blame him if it's filthy... Posts: 2864 | Registered: Monday, September 8 2003 07:00 |

Hmm, a Paladin class? Why don't we add an alignment square and change all the random dependencies to d20s and add limit breaks and references to the goddamn Final Fantasy series wherever we get the excuse? Or, better yet, we could just go jerk it onto a D&D group and be done with it. -------------------- The biggest, the baddest, and the fattest. Posts: 2367 | Registered: Friday, June 27 2003 07:00 |

Item modification is as vital to custom scenarios as custom mosters are in most cases. It wouldn't be possible to have a (remotely decent) scenario editor for Avernum or basically any other such game without that ability. As for the whole Paladin thing, yeah, I am not sad to see the whole "class" system shot up. Anyone can tell you it isn't worth anything. However, the mention of the "Lay on Hands" ability did get me wondering something... Appart from the scenario based script skills, are there any additions/subtractions to the skill system? I know the spell system is 90% the same minus the Soul Crystal based spells, but it didn't seem to me that the skill system got anywhere near as much attention. Further, as to the scenario based script skill, is it possible to give it a custom graphic, or are there limitations within the system and only a certain set of skill "button" graphics availible for this? ---Your not here often enough Maniac, Necris Omega -------------------- Razordisk Frisbee Golf Posts: 168 | Registered: Saturday, October 26 2002 07:00 |
