Hah... I submitted a goblin (the green, with blood). BUT... I sent it in on my cousin's computer, thus you labeled it under his name (Gregory Nesbitt). Eh... mind changing the name to 'Ragnar'?

What you could do is search by author so each person's graphics are in one section of the list. That way, you can skip through them all easily.

Daniel Ray may not have very... extensively creative monsters, and I still think mere color morphs aren't really worth posting because anyone with the right program who can learn to play Avernum, design good scenarios, and incorperate custom graphics into them can easily learn the use of filters and other options to morph colors...

However, to Daniel's credit his custom terrain graphics are -very- good. He by no means lacks skill, and shouldn't be disregarded as an artist. Simply, the majority of his monster graphics are so simple of an edit that a great deal of people (myself included) do not find them worth viewing. But he definitely has a strong bead on custom terrain, and I for one hope he does more of them.

Well, yeah, Necris is right. I love the Fancy Towers...

The other graphics are rad too. I like some of Jigga's graphics, and ADoS graphics are great too. To everyone: Keep doin' graphics, please! :)

Um, the towers are actually color swaps too. About half of those terrains are.

Thanks!
I want to make more, but my computer is dying. Stupid viruses. This one won't let me open McAfee ViruScan due to the fact that it blocks all webpages, and it's partially online, like Online Help files. Ironic, eh? Anyway, as soon as I have access to Paint Shop Pro again, I'll get right back to work! Until then, I'll just be posting from my mother's computer.

Yey, somebody complemented me!
I would do more, just as ADoS says about himself, however, in my case, I just can't really be bothered.

I made a spear trap (a simple edit. I took the spear from some BoE graphic, I forgot which. It's not too good, but it gets the job done, I suppose.), an NPC (Mary, one of my scenario characters. I had this one for a while, but I wasn't releasing it. Now I'm releasing it, because I don't need it anymore. I'm done with the editors.), and some carpets.

There's some quality stuff up there... thanks to Kennedy for wall template. I have no use for it, but I'm positive tons of others do. Good job on that.

And man... that newest goblin sure is high quality! Whoever made that must be the smartest, most talented person in th-- uhh ok I'll shut up now.

Grr. I made a wall template first.
Maybe I should put my Graphics Workshop up somewhere on the Web. It's got a bunch of templates, a nice big working space, and several pieces of equipment for BoE monster graphics, cut out from others. Quite useful, actually.

Brett, I finally figured out why my graphics were low-quality. GIFs are a maximum of 256 colors! I tried saving them as JPEGs, but because Paint Shop Pro 6 is stupid, it blurs even when I save it with the lowest compression. I'll have to send them to you as bitmaps from now on, and you'll have to convert them to GIFs. Sorry to be a nuisance, but otherwise, the graphics are screwed up.

I like those images you have there, except to say again the repetition is a problem. Someone should make more special equipment images like the fancy mail, because I like a variety in the equipment. I mean, should +8 vorpal swords look like their mundane counterparts?

Fancy Mail is a color swap. Of course, this doesn't matter as much with items. But I think I'll make some good items later. Edits, most likely, since I can't make graphics very well from scratch.

I'm wondering why you haven't put up my slope terrain yet, Brett; you certainly sounded quite enthusiastic about it in your mail ;) . I'm not impatient, just asking. :)

Whoops. JPGs, not GIFs. Convertign them to GIFs would be pointless.
Anyway, I'm out of school now. I'll try to remake all my graphics and send them to you in BMP form tomorrow.

I'd really appreciate it if you would look for a program like Graphic Converter that will change BMPs to GIFs or JPGs. Try shareware.com.

Anyone out there recommend a converter?

There's too many graphics for my computer to load, and I haven't seen the Louvre graphics since there were 381. Could someone post the 5 newest ones?

EDIT: Put some descriptions over each pic. Forgot to do it when posting, then the board was closed. Lol, it was practically closed 5 seconds after I posted. :D

Don't use JPEG. Jpeg is a lossy format, meaning that the images will lose quality every time you save them. At such small sizes it will also be hell for sharpness. It will also render white squares to off white, making transparency in the engine not work.
256 colours in itself is not a problem - nearly all of the avernum graphics are 256 colours.

What you need to make sure is that is the right 256 colours that are used. To do this, convert the image before saving it as gif. Hopefully you will get a message box asking about colours - get it to create an "optimised pallete". This should mean that no colour detail is lost, as well as the shape being preserved, which is much better than JPEG.
