M'kay... almost done with VoDT. I've registered my copy, just waiting for my key. My question to you, good people of the forum, is: What might you suggest as a second scenario? Should I do A Small Rebellion? Or might there be something else you'd suggest I try before? Don't mind what party I have... I'll probably re-do one with the editor when I'm done with this scenario. After playing through VoDT, I have a better idea of what I want in a party. Although, party suggestions are always welcome as well! Cheers. -------------------- "Take time to listen to what is said without words, to obey the law too subtle to be written, to worship the unnameable and to embrace the unformed." -- Lao Tzu Posts: 124 | Registered: Monday, September 26 2005 07:00 |

Most people like ASR a lot. I didn't, but eh. You could give Mad Ambition a shot, too, if you were in the mood for the indescribable experience of a TM scenario. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Hehehe... ;) Sounds intriguing... and scary. Should I be scared? :( -------------------- "Take time to listen to what is said without words, to obey the law too subtle to be written, to worship the unnameable and to embrace the unformed." -- Lao Tzu Posts: 124 | Registered: Monday, September 26 2005 07:00 |

I played ASR as my second scenario, and again to the other side's POV. Mad Ambition would also be a good choice, as would A Perfect Forest, or Roses of Reckoning. Well, they are kind of scary, but I like TM scenarios :) Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

I liked Babysitting best out of the newbie scenarios. -------------------- "Like most of life's problems, this one can be solved with bending" Posts: 287 | Registered: Tuesday, August 19 2003 07:00 |

quote:Mad Ambition is fairly entertaining actually, but you might want a Valium first. It's not a particularly sane or sensible world. Its creator may be a most likely candidate for something like, say, the Hitler Youth. -------------------- A4 Items • A4 Singleton • G4 Items • G4 Forging • G4 Infiltrator • NR Items • The Lonely Celt Posts: 2009 | Registered: Monday, September 12 2005 07:00 |

Seems I'm racking up quite a list, here... :D - A Small Rebellion - Mad Ambition - A Perfect Forest - Roses of Reckoning - Babysitting I wouldn't mind hearing about the why of these. What did you like about them? quote:I... see... I'll definitely have to check that one out... at some point... I think I'll go with something a bit more low-key for my second, though. Perhaps I'll try it as my third. :) [ Wednesday, September 28, 2005 21:40: Message edited by: Muji ] -------------------- "Take time to listen to what is said without words, to obey the law too subtle to be written, to worship the unnameable and to embrace the unformed." -- Lao Tzu Posts: 124 | Registered: Monday, September 26 2005 07:00 |

Excellent! Thank you. [Edit:] Question about the vampire in the grove. I manage to kill him (sometimes), but his drop seems variable... I've received nothing, a robe, and a torc on three seperate occasions. I've killed him a few other times, though (but not won the battle) where he seemed to drop some dark cloak-looking thing... Does anybody know what that item is? Does he ever drop something better than a torc? Mad Ambition is my favourite scenario. I wouldn't reccomend Bahsikava until way later on. That scenario is a pain to beat. Posts: 776 | Registered: Friday, July 4 2003 07:00 |

Good to know. ;) I've been seeing quite a few mentions of it, but, yeah... doesn't seem like the second-scenario type. ... And for what it's worth, I beat the vampire and got the cloak... unfortunately, it was just a normal cloak. Best drop yet, though! I got the cloak, a robe, a gold necklace and an emerald... ooOoooOoooo... You'd think that you'd get more from beating a vampire. Even the looting after the fight isn't so great. One would expect to at least find some magical item that's not limited-use. Ah well! It's done! Now to finish the scenario! :D Tomorrow... I'm going to bed now... ;) -------------------- "Take time to listen to what is said without words, to obey the law too subtle to be written, to worship the unnameable and to embrace the unformed." -- Lao Tzu Posts: 124 | Registered: Monday, September 26 2005 07:00 |

Actually, that's not at all what I was talking about. I was talking about the vampire and his undead cohorts in the north-eastern Dying Woods in the Huge Cavern where one finds the Waste Repository. But that's a very interesting thread!! Where is this hidden stone circle? Is it the one on the island a bit south-west of Blinlock? [edit: Yes yes, I know... north is actually diagonal... but I meant those directions insofar as top is "north" when you look at the square map. :P ] [ Thursday, September 29, 2005 00:03: Message edited by: Muji ] -------------------- "Take time to listen to what is said without words, to obey the law too subtle to be written, to worship the unnameable and to embrace the unformed." -- Lao Tzu Posts: 124 | Registered: Monday, September 26 2005 07:00 |

According to others, it is "in the far northwest. Find the coordinates (7,45) — just south of the stone circle." Edit- Okay, just bothered to do this. Not sure it is as impressive as the effort expended, a normal party would not be able to slay that guy. Check the western edge of the map just below the river. *this message sponsored by the compass rose* [ Thursday, September 29, 2005 00:31: Message edited by: Jumpin' Salmon ] -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

I think you already started with a scenario, but as a general note: my second scenario was ASR, but I really didn't think it was as good as people said, as though DwTD I found excellent. I didn't feel any of the dillemma you should have felt in ASR. I was disappointed. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek! A Small Rebellion did not survive the transfer to BoA well. The BoE version is good. -------------------- SupaNik: Aran, you're not big enough to threaten Ash. Dammit, even JV had to think twice. Posts: 1861 | Registered: Friday, February 11 2005 08:00 |
