I just started playing Mad Ambition and was struck by how Fort Ivalice seems to be manned entirely by escapees from the psych ward. Including you.

Just out of curiousity, is it all explained later or did TM just want to express himself by filling his scenario with rather colorful NPCs?

You are not the first to notice this. It's probably best not to ask too many questions about TM's artistic motivations.

Ok, I've played a bit more and now at least there is a reason why the fort overflows with people crying for a therapist. Still, it makes you wonder a bit...

The guys brilliant. He makes brilliant scenarios and is incredibly funny when not banned. I don't really want to question why he is like that, because do we honestly want to know, but I am glad for it.

Whether you are nasty or not is random. A flag is set at the beginning of the scenario which alters what you say.

As for whether it is explained... kinda. The lead PC has a difficult past.

Ah. A couple more minutes of playing gets you to the the dialoge that takes you out of the weirdness and into what is starting to look like like a well done story.
