...felt terribly, horribly sorry for something that happened to the characters in your party?
:(

...acquired more alchemical ingredients than you can keep track of?

...carried a full inventory of potentially valuable, unidentified treasures only to find that you've ignored much more valuable things for cursed items?

...felt guilty for using the character editor that you paid for and thus, rightfully own? :o

...had a party in the 60's levels and desperately wished that you could still create Knowledge Brew from the earlier games?

...sold cursed items to a merchant you hate?

...wished magical efficiency counted for something?

...mailed Jeff Vogel with the stupidest problem and got a response and went "OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG," and saved the message forever? :D

...taken a guess at the registration codes just for the heck of it?

This feels like a poll, so...

1. Uh, possibly.

2. Definitely yes, in the AT. But not in BoA.

3. All the time, yes.

4. Sometimes.

5. No, not really. The HLPM cures me of such doubts.

6. Heh, that's amusing. No, but I probably will now..

7. Yes, darn it, yes.

8. No, not really.

9. Nope.

My light spells are free now. Does that make magical efficiency count for something?

1. Depends. Most of the bad things that happen in the BoA world are authored by me, so I sorta have precognition...

2. No. I usually just keep my ingredients on one character.

3. See no 1.

4. I don't use the character editor.

5. No.

6. ...that is a very good idea.

7. It does count for something. When you save even 1 SP on every spell, at the high levels you get that skill at, it can be the extra haste/war blessing/radiant shield you need. (And if your magi are perpetually offensive, you deserve what you get.)

8. No.

9. More than a guess... Err, no.

1 - no, they all have good regeneration skill
2 / 3 - all the time
4 - no
5 - no, we have Balu's elixir
6 - ^_^ nice, but no
7 - it does count as it was said above
8 - yes, but I wouldn't save the messages forever
9 - no

1. Naturally. Particularly when it's something nasty and disease-ish.

2. Yep. I should use potions far more than I do.

3. No, I tend to identify things via char. editor if I can't find a town that will identify them.

4. Countless times.

5. Yep.

6. I thought you couldn't sell them...

7. Fireblast for 2 SP sounds pretty good to me... and it keeps me from using the character editor as much.

8. No.

9. No.

1. Nope, I try to avoid letting such things happen at all.

2. I carry about 150 pounds at all times

3. No, I'm so paranoid I carry just plain everything

4. No, it decreases the amount of effort I would otherwise spend unnescessarily going to an arbitrary place where I can rest

5. Definitely

6. No, but I distribute cursed items and trash in anama temples when I'm bored.

7. No, I think it's great, though after playing the game for one year I have just gotten it.

8. No

9. No

1. This is what reloading saved games is for. (Well, okay, I suppose I should also feel sorry for my PCs if I'm carrying around a uranium bar for some reason. But I don't.)

2. Eeh. I only occasionally give a character Potion Making, so I usually sell alchemical ingredients.

3. Cursed items aren't that common. I've unknowingly left behind valuable stuff for cursed items occasionally, but I don't think I ever lost anything really useful.

4. The only time I've touched the character editor was to take my party out of a town while betatesting a buggy scenario that wouldn't let me out, so this one would be a no.

5. On the whole, I'd rather be able to make Heroic Brews than Knowledge Brews.

6. Um. Yeah, can't sell cursed items.

7. Magical Efficiency would be pretty good if it weren't for the endurance investment required. Who puts endurance on spellcasters?

8. Er, can't say that I have.

9. No, but I tried to guess the password of a BoE scenario once.

I swear you used to be able to sell cursed items. In the AT, possibly?

You definitely have been able to sell cursed items (for piddling amounts of gold).

As far as I can tell, the only "cursed" items you can sell in BoA are the ones that aren't properly cursed due to that weird bug.

Some cursed items can be sold, but only the higher-up ones. Breastplates, halberds, greatswords, etc.

No, I just asked him once about the Black Cube from E2, one about bonuses on items, and another about Demonslayer in E3, and I got personal responses.

I figured someone else must have done that other than me

I'm also supprised no one's ever played one of the shareware games and typed in some random number for the registration code for fun. Not to steal it, I mean, but just because.

I've gotten a lot of emails from Jeff. They're just not special anymore :P

And I took a few wild guesses at the registration codes while I was waiting for the codes from spidweb.

1. No. I am thoroughly detached from my characters when I play. They are my pawns, nothing more.

2. No. I don't ever pick them up, because I always use a god party and never need to bother with alchemy.

3. No. My god party is always well-armed and equipped, so I rarely pick up anything at all.

4. No, I'm a remorseless cheater.

5. No, not with the character editor and HLPM around.

6. No, never thought of that.

7. No, as I don't need it.

8. No, I've never felt the slightest inclination to contact Vogel.

9. I suppose it says something about me that this is the only question I can truthfully answer "yes" to. :o I was just messing around, though, with no intention or hope of actually entering the right key.

I won't answer them all, as I am in a hurry, but I was sorry when my characters died in the end of Canopy, and were respawned as undead.(If not, how would it been possible to finish Basshikava AFTER that?

1. At times I have, but they do heal easily.

2. Only one of my characters has points in potion making, and I carry very few alchemy ingredients.

3. Sometimes, but not often.

4. I don't use the character editor. Well, only when necessary, remove from town or scenario.

5. No.

6. No, I just drop them here and there.

7. It does…

8. No.

9. No.
