Ok, I'm playing VODT, and although I've played it before I can't remember how to get to the Vahnatai people. I know that I need to talk to them first before I can get the opening stone from the friendly spiders, but I can't remember where they are. I've already killed the purple null bug. I'm in the area past the guard spider, in the room where the null bug was, and and surrounded by junk, and I know that this is the room the stone should be in but I can' find it. This is easier. It's in the far northwest corner of the area past the guard spider. (There's a purple null bug nearby if you haven't killed it yet.) It's in a pile of rubble. Just so you know, make use of the Edit button if you want to add new information to an old post. Generally that's better than posting several times in a row. The entrance to the vahnatai cave is in the Library level of the school. If you enter the library from the northwest of the screen, keep going southeast until you reach the bottom left corner of the map. Thare should be a room full of rubble nearby. A slide will lead to the Vahnatai. EDIT:I misspelled "room". Called it "roo" Ther are no kangaroos in VoDT!!!! And why has Kelandon changed his name to Thurylandon? I just noticed. right, I found the Vahnatai - it's the opening stone I'm having problems with now. I found the Vahnatai, went back to the spiders. Chief Spider told me he had a pretty stone (a.k.a. opening stone) but that the big bugs stole it. So I went and killed the big bugs, and I know the stone should be with them, but I've killed them all (including the purple null bug) and I can not find the stone. Argh. I've played this before and I remember the Opening stone being there. Have I missed something??? (a few minutes later....) Nevermind, I got it! I forgot that I had to bring the eggs to the Chief Spider. Ok. Big square area in the bottom left of the map... that doesn't ring a bell. The vahnatai are the ones in the Vahnatai Caverns, and they're sprinkled along the east (right) wall. If they're attacking you, you did something to anger them (attacked a friendly creature or something). Vahnatai are the humanoids that look like aliens from Sci-Fi movies. They are wearing fluorescent green robes. They are hiding in some caves to the east (left) of the library level. If the things attacking you look differently, you are in the wrong place. If Vahnatai are hostile to you, you have to either use character editor, or leave and wait for the town to refresh. The town refreshes after you've visited 4 or 5 other "towns". (Each level of mage guild counts as a separate town.)
