Calling all interested beta testers... I've just began alpha testing a short (8-town) scenario. I'm expecting alpha to happen in one sitting, so I should be able to send out a beta version tomorrow or the next day. The working title is "The Darkness," but that may change. No, The Darkness has nothing to do with Bahssikava. It's set in Roman times, but no, it has nothing to do with Nethergate, either (although I do steal some Nethergate graphics here and there). It has a pre-fab party (sort of) -- details on that when you actually receive the scenario. Anyway, if you want to beta test, post this information, and be aware that I probably will not take very many testers, since the scenario is quite short: Name by which you wanted to be credited in the readme: E-mail address: Mac or PC: Beta testing experience (none needed): -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! Ephesos: In conclusion, yarr. Feel free to be the first to use the Beta Testing Center for this. :) -------------------- Visit the Blades of Avernum Center and the Beta Testing Center -------------- "Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ." Beta-Testing Experience: None, technically, but I know my way around a script, and I spotted a few errors in Canopy's script after it was released. I think you should use the Beta Testing Center. Were I ever to release a scenario, I know I would. [ Saturday, March 26, 2005 17:39: Message edited by: PoD person ] Posts: 293 | Registered: Saturday, May 29 2004 07:00 |

None of the combat or puzzles should be seriously difficult. I made every effort to make this scenario a breeze, gameplay-wise. The challenges that you will have to deal with and the complexities that will develop are of a totally different nature. Anyway, thank you to all who signed up. As I said in the post above, I needed at most two more beyond what I had when I posted this morning, so I will be sending out a beta version to the following people: Thuryl Jake "Dallerdin" Scott Buttered Toast Pascal Adam Higuera Imban hawk king I'm expecting to send this out later tonight or possibly sometime tomorrow. Certainly you will receive an e-mail from me within the next forty-eight hours. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Okay, e-mail sent. Everyone on the list above should have received one. Hotmail likes to bounce back zip files, so PoD person, you may or may not actually be able to receive the scenario at that e-mail address. If it didn't go through and you have another address I can try, let me know and I'll send it to that one. Everyone else: I don't think beta will take very long with this scenario. It's quite short. I expect to release next weekend. EDIT: Gmail also likes to bounce back my scenarios. Dallerdin, do you have an alternate address? Got it. Based on reading the readme and taking a brief look at the scenario script, I already have some comments, but I'll save them for my report. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Report sent. Fix the various issues listed in it and you'll have made a great scenario (although, uh, certain people are likely to hate it.) Kel, my e-mail bounced it back. I don't have an alternate address... Could you host it on the Pink and Pretty Page and just shoot me a link? I'll go register a Yahoo account in the meantime. EDIT: a h i g 3 2 1 (at) yahoo (dot) com EDIT 2: You might as well send .sit and .zip, because i've got access to both kinds of computer, with BoA on each.
