I'd like to see a new all-purpose forum to hold all the crap that currently fills General. This would be: 1) Introductions (in a single thread titled "Introduce Yourself") 2) Name Changes (in a single thread titled "Call Me Bwana") 3) Returning Members and Leaving Members (in a single thread titled "Now You See Me/Now You Don't") 4) Possibly RPs, so I don't have to look at them any more It saves space by converging several trillion threads into only a few. Death to off-topic posts (i.e. "lol my new name is Kafka McSocrates LOOK AT ME I'M SMART", "OMG WHAT A GREAT NAME WHERE DID YOU COME UP WITH IT", "lol I heard it at school once") Just state your business and shut up. Way to kill the concept. No, not like Miscellaneous. Because only a few types of topics would be allowed. Yeah, its not a bad idea now I think about it. Maybe just a set of 4 permanent topics in a subsection of general, partitioned at the bottom or something. Uh... you do realize this wouldn't work very well, don't you? Newbies, people leaving, etc. would figure out that the only place to get their topic seen is General, so they wouldn't use those. It's a nice idea, but then you remove the fun of LF having his testes removed through his sweat glands (an image I'm having engraved onto a commemorative coin) mid-thread by anyone who's feeling bored. Scorp, the idea is great. Unfortunately, if it were workable, we could have also used Misc. responsibly and kept it alive.
