It's not the first ban in the last two months before posting, but it is a new reason.

When I looked at that list of banned people, the most recent had advertisements in their profiles. It seems to me that the one linked to above also has some.
Are we getting some sort of plague of advertisers, or what?

Technically, anarchy (the absence of government) is the extreme of libertarianism, which also supports unregulated markets, thus capitalism. :P

There are different anarchist movements. There are anarcho-capitalists and anarcho-communists, and everything in between. An important subject of debate, or so I've understood, is how much organisation structure is too much. Or for example: is an anarchist political party even possible? Or is an informal hierarchy a similar problem as a formal hierarchy?

I don't call myself an anarchist but some of my friends are long-time anarchists.

Another EDIT: The absence of state does not automatically mean unregulated capitalism. It depends at least on what a state is and what else there is when there's no state...

Communists (in theory) have the same goal, that is getting rid of the state in communism.

Well, i wanted to write something, but milu already told it all!

All i'd like to add is, that i believe an anarchist party could, in theory, exist, but it should disband at the moment it took over and declared anarchy.

We in Slovenia, or actually the former Yugoslavia, had a similar thing once. We had this Communist Party which came to rule. Which is absurd coz in Communism there is NO state therefore NO parties; other than wild, uncontrolled, birthday ones :) !

As for me, although i often use AnarhIztok, not just on the net, as a nick name, I don't regard myself as an anarchist, nor do i regard my self as not an anarchist. I'm just ME! Coz if I want Anarchy, it is ME who has to be like this, I don't really have the right, nor want others to be this way. For i believe if we all thought alike there'd not be much fun, would there? :)
Also I know that if the world'd enter the period of Anarchy now there'd be nothing good out of it - it's most likely it'd be unregulated capitalism topped with totalitarism or something worse.

Actually i believe that nowadays we need some strict rules, but only the ones we REALLY need.
I mean, in Slovenia, we have our law based totally on the ancient Roman law and on the law from the Habsburg Monarchy. Don't you think it's time for it to adapt a little.
(Maybe including something about strict and stern punisments for those whose only purpose is to try to drown us in adds. A good thing my parrents taught me how to swim when we still had the good old socialism :D )

Anarchy is a bad idea. I'm willing to bet that none of us are strong enough to protect ourselves and our interests, and as soon as we ban together to defend ourselves, we create rules to govern that arrangement (whether formal or implied), and BOOM! you have government all over again.

Any government premised on relying on humanity's better nature is doomed to fail.

That's why i said, or at least i thought i did, that it is not possible today, coz we are to used to capitalistic thinking; and therefore your vision'd be fulfilled!
Anarchy is just the farthest extent of evolvement of human society! Nothing more, nothing less!
And furtheremore, i'm not saying we mustn't have rules, just not the idiotic ones. And there should be no holes in them!!!!!!

I seem to remember something by Terry Pratchett to the effect of, "Five exclamation marks in a row is a sure sign of insanity."

(Anarchy seems more like the natural state of the biosphere. That said, it's not always pretty. In fact, it could get rather heated rather quickly... so I agree with Drew.

Anarchy seems like a good idea, but there are enough people who are too stupid and cruel out there that the "system" wouldn't be stable.)

Anarchy tends not to seem like a good idea to those with a background in understanding either human nature or human poliical edifices. It makes a perfectly good end goal, but getting there always involves some miraculous transformation (see Marx).

Liberal democracies tend to operate, naturally enough, on the principle that most people would like anarchy applied to them but not to everyone else, because other people are bad. The result is a society that regulates as little as possible while still maintaining law, order, and basic services. The degree to which those are needed and regulated is a large part of the liberal/conservative dispute.

—Alorael, who would be happy to live in an anarchic society as long as he can have all the military force on his side. This, however, is generally called monarchy, autarchy, or other not so nice names.

Of course, maybe all forms of government are doomed to fail, but I believe government that attempts to account for man's worse nature (all that "nasty, brutish, and short" stuff) is destined to hold out longer.

I loves the checks and balances!

Wow, the discussion is really heated up, i see.
I only wanted to make a joke, for crying out loud.
(You can see a little shy smiling face at the end of my first post here)
((For those who don't :D ; I hope that one's large enough.)) :P
Anyway, it's cool to have such a discussion, but don't take it so seriously (the ones who did), let's just share some e-laughs over some e-beers while we're sitting in the best e-inn in E-ville!

And sorry for shifting the topic...I thought it was pretty much over already and thoroughly discussed before

I have informed the mods that, should it look like we're being flooded with accounts to generate spam, they should ban enthusiastically.

If some poor, Russian waif who wants nothing more than to discuss the glories of my games gets caught in the crossfire, well, our E-mail address is all over the site. They can drop me a note to assure me they're a regular human being and they can get a proper account. But I'm not holding my breath.

That's pretty much the beginning and end of the discussion.
