It occurred to me that I probably can't list everyone who has been a mod on the UBB. This calls for an appeal to the akashic records of Spiderweb, or at least the assembled memories of everyone here.

In no particular order...

Lightning Exiled: Misc.Timon the Minstrel: Misc.Alec: Misc.Djur: Misc.TM: Many of the forums.Scorp: Many of the forums.Lady J: Misc.Drezin: Exile Trilogy? Was it Drezin and not another member?MM: Wasn't a mod on the UBB, was he?omlette: Exile TrilogyZeviz: I don't rememberEdward Jonathan Jackson Lemur: (Did I get that right?) Misc, I think. Maybe not on the UBB. Maybe I'm making it up entirely.Alcritas: Misc. But it was never meant to be...—Alorael, who welcomes any additions, subtractions, modifications, or addenda.

On ikonboard: Carmen and Karamea too.

MM was a mod on the UBB.

Yes, Drezin was a mod.

Fallen was a mod too (some game forums).

Ed Lemur was also a general mod.

TurtleWhipper modded some game forums and maybe also another.

Tie-my-shoe was a mod too. General? Tech support?

There may have been a couple other game forum mods I'm forgetting.

Wow that really takes me back ...

If I remember correctly, the two lists above cover almost everybody who had been a mod, but isn't one currently: Since Thuryl is no longer a mod, he should be listed as former mod of General.

Double-checking with web.archive.org:

Scorpius: General, ET, SubTerra
Ed Lemur: Tech Support, Galactic Core
Lighting Exiled: Misc, ET
Minstrel: Misc, Geneforge
MM: Misc, SubTerra
TM: Misc, A2, Gf, Nethergate, GC
Turtle Whipper: A3
tie-my-shoe: Gf
Zeviz: A3, SubTerra, Nethergate, A2?
Drezin: ET
Lady J: Misc, ET (after Misc was removed)
Fallen: Avernum, A2

Other archived copies don't have lists of mods on front page, so it's harder to find out remaining game board mods.

Be careful with a word, as you would with a sword,
For it too has the power to kill.
However well placed word, unlike a well placed sword,
Can also have the power to heal.

Schrodinger modded General until he was replaced by Thuryl last year.

Drakey, Schro, and *i don't count as ex-mods on general principles.

—Alorael, who recalls that Geneforge was released in late June of 2002. TM ceased to be a mod in April. There was no incongruity. Except for the one that goes without saying.

What general principles? Schrodinger isn't an admin, is he? Just because of the context...

So TM modded Geneforge only before the game actually sucked. :)

According to my records he is. He just rarely uses the power, but if necessary he can.

Schro is an admin because he threatened to ever so slightly disturb the orbits of celestial bodies so that they would crash into the Earth and destroy us all if we didn't give him dictatorial power. He's also a very kind and patient man who would never abuse such power.

Alcritas is a giant of the BoE world. His arc series of scenarios is one of the major reasons to play BoE. You should have voted for Alcritas.

—Alorael, who thinks it would be more accurate to say that TM was a mod of GF until Scorpius started to suck.

So, uh... Lady J's name was never at the top of the General? It's just that I have a vague memory of that, but I could be wrong. I might be thinking about Misc., although I never did visit that when it was still accessible by normal means. And I kind of remember that it General, not Misc.

Hmm. :\

EDIT: Also, I'm pretty sure she was already gone at that point. I really could've sworn her name was once up there. Just, you know, there. Without her.

Lady J was one of the very few unduly elected Misc. mods. I don't think she was ever a General mod.

Scorpius cannot be described. He can only be experienced.

—Alorael, who isn't quite sure how some of the first mods became the first mods other than early arrival and duration of stay. Scorp is something of a case in point.

Why don't we also have a list of what moderators there are now?

We do. It's the list of "Protectors", just below the banner in each forum.

I liked it better when it showed mods on the front page of the boards. Drakey couldn't do sneaky things that way.

—Alorael, who moves to bring back avatars, bring mods back to the front, and ban stupidity from Spiderweb. Huzzah!

Blasphemy! Drakey has always been, will always be, and is currently doing sneaky things. :P
