I happen to like old kung fu films the worse the better. Everything from the Master of the Flying Guillotine to Elton Chong. The worse, the better. I have seen a lot of Elton Chong's films Fist of the Golden Monkey, Deadly Shaolin Kung Fu, Gravedigger King Fu, and Shaolin Drunk Monkey. These films are so awful that they are almost good. Any old school recommendations. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. Star Bright, Star Light, Oh I Wish I May, I Wish Might, Wish For One Star Tonight. I've always meant to watch more bad kung-fu movies... but I can't help you here. Why the movie threads all of a sudden? We just need an über-colossal, gi-normous cinematographic smackdown of a super-thread! -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. Wow, no interest. Well how about some decent titles by Chang Cheh of the Shaw Brothers Studio like Five Deadly Venoms, The One Armed Swordsman, or Eight Diagram Pole Fighter. Well, of course you have the Bruce Lee movies. Then there are the Lee knock-offs (find an actor that looks like him--> you fill in the blanks). Especially the second set are great. I think Fists of Fury is wonderful. -------------------- "Dikiyoba ... is demon ... drives people mad and ... do all sorts of strange things." "You Spiderwebbians are mad, mad, mad as March hares." Officially, swelling of the brain, possibly related to an allergic reaction to a painkiller. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_Lee#Death_by_.22misadventure.22 [ Tuesday, July 11, 2006 13:40: Message edited by: Thuryl ] -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! I've seen Enter the Dragon, it was kind of comical. -------------------- "As our circle of knowledge expands, so does the circumference of darkness surrounding it." --Albert Einstein -------------------- Posts: 536 | Registered: Sunday, September 7 2003 07:00 |

Has anyone else seen Ong Bak? It's got an alrite storyline, but it's a cheap Thai movie that made quite a bit of money, I think because of the main character in the movie actually being able to sideflip through 2 panels of glass two feet wide. -------------------- When you think you can't get any lower in life and hit rock bottom, God hands you a shovel. Ong Bak was good from the standpoint he did all his own stunts and showed what the human body is capable of. -------------------- "Dikiyoba ... is demon ... drives people mad and ... do all sorts of strange things." Ong Bak might be fun. I think I'm going to try Kung Fu Hustle by the same person who did Shaolin Soccer. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. How about a bad American parody of kung fu movies like Big Showdown in Little China? Although I do like the Bruce Lee movies, I've forgotten the titles of all the late night movies I watched in college. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

I saw two films recently both kung fu comedies both are good light entertainment Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer, both are worth a good laugh. Shaolin Soccer was the highest grossing domestic film in Hong Kong history. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. Just finished seeing Kill Bill 1 and Kill Bill 2. How incredible awful, stupid, and highly entertaining with ridiculous implausible super bloody super sexy fights. Worth seeing for the ridiculous factor, not to mention Uma Thurman the bomb in action sexy foolishness. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh.
