TM, he didn't say Christian bashing. He said Ben bashing.

Well, yes. But ben only gets bashed by being the most intolerable christian around. In fact, he's almost as bad as Myntmo.

Hey, Christian bashing is still one of the few politically correct ones out there. At least until Bush makes an executive order declaring it illegal and detaining all Christian bashers without public trials. There has been a jump in sealed trials with no record that they even happened.

Still since Jeff runs the boards it's his right to choose what he wants to allow.

Just because you can bash someone doesn't always mean you should.

Again, why does the Christianity come into it? Is an intolerable Christian worse than any other sort of intolerable person?

TM, ben didn't argue in a Christian way lately. I have not seen any religious matter in his posts for some time now.
:) Thus: you won. Thus you could forgive and forget that he ever dared to throw the C-word into a debate.

edit:

People have expressed this sentiment in seriousness before, and it strikes me as unbelievably clueless. You don't have free speech on these boards. You're not supposed to have free speech on these boards. You clicked "okay" to an agreement that said so when you registered.

No point in that agreement says: "you shall not discuss political matters". The only one I could find that would fit approximately is "no discussion of illegal activities". But it would not be suitable to the subject of abortion. Abortion is not illegal in India or e.g. in European countries (I don't know for America though).

The agreement does, however, say:

quote:
Spiderweb Software, Inc., reserves the right, but does not assume the responsibility, to restrict any communication which Spiderweb Software, Inc. deems in its discretion to be harmful to individual guests, damaging to the communities which make up the Spiderweb Software Community, or in violation of Spiderweb Software, Inc.'s or any third-party rights. Disruptive behaviors in the chat rooms include (but are not limited to):

...

These disruptive behaviors are grounds for removal; the Spiderweb Software site administrator is the final judge of whether a guest's behavior qualifies as disruption.

So it does say that regardless of the rules as they are now laid down, Jeff can arbitrarily decide to censor anything he doesn't want to have on the boards, from abortion debates to out-of-context quotes to bashings of Avernum 4. :P

But he didn't do it until now, did he?
Poor Jeff, maybe the criticism of A4 did hurt him harder than intended.
:) Maybe we should cheer him up somehow.

No, but at the rate at which he is tending to the palm grove in his face, he should soon be able to harvest coconuts from behind his ears. That is what I'm picturing, anyway.

The last time was in the Satanism thread, IIRC.

Anyway TM, I'm becoming aware that you are very well entitled to your own beliefs. Obviously Christians are just those weird wrong-headed sources of sub-par politicians that think dealing with terrorists will actually help the situation. Well there you go. I'm just trying to help with my claims.

I just said ben-bashing because, while most of it might not have been bashing, a few of those debates were everybody vs. ben, debates which I've half-heartedly set my mind to avoiding lately.
