Just a question: Why was it causing everybody to get upset? It's not like I was insulting anybody with it. Would you have gotten any less upset if I had just put it in my sig? If so, why? It's not like little dashes below some pointless text instead of above it are going to bring a curse down on your family. Yeah, but is it really something to get angry over? Do people get angry when they show a bad episode of the Simpsons several times in a row? Most people weren't really angry as such. Most people were just moderately annoyed. I, however, was moderately pissed off for the sole fact that I have nothing better to do, and it seemed like something to do to pass time. It's simply because anyone that uses Leet Speak is instantly jumped on by everyone else nearby and beaten over the head with a dictionary. I mean, appart from pissing everyone off there is no point. Sometimes it's used to make fun of people who can't type. There is a point in using it for other reasons too. One being that noobs usually can't read it, so they can't detract from a discussion. Another reason is to keep discussions of illegal activities from being picked up by Government searches, though now they likely search for leetspeak as well. They may not care, but they have to make it look like they're trying to do something. If it doesn't look like they're doing something good, they can't justify their paychecks. Just like when I helped decorate a Christmas tree in the school lobby for extra credit. I didn't actually do much, but I made it look like I did, so I still got extra credit.
