Will you keep us updated on how many votes each candidate has, or will it be kept a secret?

I think it will be kept secret until the final counting. Otherwise people with low votes might start complaining and flaming (though if they are running for moderator I doubt they would be that stupid).

Why wouldn't they, if they knew that they had no chance? :D

Seriously, I doubt that Drakey would ruin the surprise for us.

It's too late now, but I did declare my intention to drop from the race. It's too late to do anything about the 24th vote, but if any votes were headed my way, please send them elsewhere.

Is Zeviz running or isn't he? I've seen plenty of references to his "joke candidacy", and yet he's still on the list...

Drakey, is it too late to add 919 to the voter list? It was my understanding that all candidates could vote...

EDIT: After Drakey's clarification of the rules, I decided to keep running (since the votes given to me will not be wasted).

So vote for Zeviz and support EVOL, the only party with a specific programm to improve these forums, making them a better place for everybody while maintaining fun and safe environement.

Candidates can shift votes that come their way to other candidates - that's part of what makes the election interesting and won't happen until after these results are collected.

Are you saying I can still run, but then e-mail you after results are posted saying "shift all votes from me to person X"?

But will you make the vote counts public? I think it's important that you do so. Let's say most people want Thuryl to win, but they know that Thuryl is the most popular. What if everyone votes for someone else because they think Thuryl already has a sure shot, and he ends up not getting into the finals? I don't think that would be very good.

Yes.

t ADoS: The pre-voting poll is basically an exit poll before the actual voting. I don't think it's really necessary to reveal a running count, but I might post some results in a couple days.

I fully realize that this will sound moronic, given my frequent posting on these election threads, but could you remind me to which forum the elected moderator will be assigned?

Edit - Thanks ADoS for the quick answer. Personally, I would have thought you could extend that answer to more than one word, but I give you credit for capitalizing and punctuating it. And of course I'm editing rather than replying because a post of "Thanks." would have been excessively spammy.

Will there then be five mod's, or will someone get the old heave-ho from the mod spot?

Since the UBB doesn't permit more than four mods, there will be an extremely arcane process involving athames )both blessed and unblessed), rubber bands, a pair of ravens, a blob of former light, a broken circuit, and dark energy. The current mod found to have the greatest rotational inertia around the smallest puncture wound will be removed.

—Alorael, who hopes this clarified the process.

I don't know who this E-mail will be from, but I'll give it a go while I can.

Yeah, we'll have to have another election on who to demod. :P

EDIT: I don't think this E-mail will work. I'll send my votes by PM, if that's okay.

So essentially we're just voting for the person who picks the next moderator...

No, because after this round there's going to be a second runoff vote between the top-scoring candidates. At the moment we're just voting for who gets to choose who's in the second election.

This post no longer makes sense.

And the electee will not necessarily become a mod. It all depends on the surface tension of the blood.

On behalf of all candidates, I would like to enquire how much blood is going to be used for these experiments. I think most of us would prefer to be still alive when we get an answer about our acceptability.

You seem to be under the impression that it's the candidates' blood tension that will be scrutinized. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Voters, please roll up your sleeves.

—Alorael, who conveniently ignores the fact that half the candidates are the voters.
