Unless I am mistaken, that account does not actually exist, but is some kind of a database reference to your current account in order to avoid errors. That's what I heard anyway. It doesn't explain why the account clearly does not reflect your present karma and postcount. It does, however, have your join date... It looks like this profile was sent to member # 5. When it was created, I had 17 posts, and had not created my profile yet(I did that yesterday.) Posts: 58 | Registered: Tuesday, May 17 2005 07:00 |

Well we could shoot you both and let God (should he even exist) sort it out. But I'm assuming Drakey gave you account #5, so there is no need for such drastic measures. -------------------- Lt. Sullust Cogito Ergo Sum Polaris Posts: 2462 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

I think the kind of errors that erased me and Saunders are different. Her account has not magically reappeared like mine, unfortunately :( . [ Monday, June 06, 2005 10:38: Message edited by: Mystery Man ] Posts: 455 | Registered: Tuesday, May 17 2005 07:00 |

Contgrats on getting your account back. Why can't Drakey (or one of Spidweb people) just go into the database and manually fix the rest of missing accounts? Since Saunders is one of the first mods, I'd assume her account is important enough to restore manually. -------------------- Be careful with a word, as you would with a sword, For it too has the power to kill. It's not necessarily possible, MM is likely to be an exception. -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

I meant telneting into the databse server, logging into the database and typing something like: "INSERT INTO users (user_ID, user_name, user_postcount) VALUES ('00000021', 'Saunders', 1234);" (using whatever table and column names are used by UBB). Does Drakey have access to the database? I don't think the UBB admin panel lets you access it. Posts: 455 | Registered: Tuesday, May 17 2005 07:00 |

No one knows exactly what Drakey has access to, but it's more than any of us, that's for sure. I'm imagining he has about as much power over the boards as Jeff himself. I believe MM's post count is about 1010 + 50 + current - 17. So 1073. -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

The impression I get is that Drakey doesn't have full access to the board's inner workings. It's quite likely he needed to enlist Mariann's help to bring back MM's account. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Drakey has talked about it before, and I believe he's said he doesn't have access to the database. —Alorael, who is greatly amused by the fact that member #5 registered in May 2005. Let the newbies ponder that and rupture neurons. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |
