What order do spiderweb's games go in? I mean, does Blades of Avernum come after avernum 3? And please tell me Nethergate will come for Mac OS X! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! It looks awsome!
Oh yeah, I want to get all the Avernum and perhaps Geneforge series and Nethergate. However, you can see the problem, $$$$$$$! Is there a mass purchase special? ie: buy the whole series and get 50% or something? (I wish!)

Blades of Avernum does come after Avernum 3, but you don't need to have played through the trilogy before starting BoA.

As for discounts, if you want the Avernum trilogy, you can get it on CD for $55 ($32 less than getting the three CDs separately). And although you didn't mention it, you can get the Exile trilogy on CD for $45 ($30 less than getting the three games separately).

There is more information on the website.

Please stop spamming with images. If he knew the answers, he wouldn't ask.

Yes, the order of the games is A1, A2, A3, and BoA. Note that since BoA consists mostly of scenarios written by people other than Jeff, each individual scenario could be anywhere on the timeline of the world of Avernum or in another universe entirely.

Jeff has said that he has no intention of carbonizing Nethergate or any other older games, but I believe they run just fine in Classic.

All the prices in US dollars are on the order form and on the website. I believe Nethergate is only $15 with any other purchased game, too.

—Alorael, who highly recommends visiting the Spiderweb Software website to get answers. It has most of them.

Blades Of Exile can also be purchased for $15 with the purchase of another game. I believe it's one or the other, not both, though.

Sorry for the image spam, but if he would have spent even half the time it takes to register an account and post to look for answers on the website (where he likely found the link to the forum to begin with), he wouldn't need to ask.

It's a testament to the kindness of folks like you, Alo, that you're willing to post this information for noobs, even though it's otherwise readily available and evident.

It was easier to rewrite it than to find it on the website and post links!

—Alorael, who would rather expend a little effort in answering questions than a lot of effort in yelling at image spammers.

Yeah, but any sort of moderator duties aside, yelling at people starting a .jpg orgy is WAY more fun.

Gareth: I'm not well versed at all in Mac, so pardon the question, but can you somehow install a secondary system on your Mac that would allow you to play the older games?
(if this was a dumb question, I offer my ignorance of Mac workings as an excuse, even though it clearly isn't a good one)

Also, You may want to try to play Blades of Exile which has an IMMENSE (!!!!) amount of scenarios, and a HUGE chunk of that immensity is made up of fine scenarios. If you can play BoE, that is.

Also, don't forget to check Geneforge 1 and 2!

Oh, hey I answered my own damn question, what do you know?!

Okay, Gareth, if you're still checking this thread:

Go here which covers some questions you may have on how to run the older games!

Yee haa! I guess you can even play the original Exile.
What a treat for you, young man!

(And yeah, American Dollars. I think the general rule of thumb for these internet thingies is that, unless otherwise noted, the dollars are the ones with the almighty eye on it. Yup. Those same ones. Novus Ordus Seclorum, Annuit Copetis and all that jazz. So remember, if you spend American Dollars you're helping the Illuminati take of your neighborhood, including that wonderful cat who does improvised operetta versions of Bach's fugues at 3:15 am (more or less).)

(Good news is, the good people at Spider Web accept international orders, you can order them by phone if you don't like to pay through the net, maybe even a money order which you can get at a bank. Don't know about checks. And other than Nethergate I don't think there's any other SW game that you can't download here, so you don't have to wait for the mail to deliver the game.)

(Download. Play. Enjoy.)

Salud!

One question: I've heard the term "carbonizing" in reference to Spiderweb games quite often now, and I still have no idea what it means. Does it describe some special process applying only to Macs?

before someoen asks why that must be done: OSX is diffrent than pasts mac releases at OSX is really UNIX with a specific GUI that dosen't need X or a Windows Manager. But you can still run X if you want to/know how to use the OSX Consol.

Sorry about the slight jeer off topic, but High Lord Sylak, I couldn't help but notice that in your signature/amount of post/registered thing, you have (backwards) Revelstone, The Land. Ahhh Stephen Donaldson, what a great author. I have all three Chronicles of Thomas Covenant in a paperback...but I only just passed the stage when Covenant delivered his message to the Council of Lords.
