Get a processor, you can do without a new sound card.

Also, I don't want Halo2; Halo is terrible to me. And no, consoles aren't making a comeback for me. And Xbox can handle DooM3 only because everything is scaled down so it can be handled. So... laugh at you.

You are as mad as a cracker sir, in my humble opinion. Have you seen the videos for Halo-2?
Actually its Halos story wich is the most important aspect for me, and the conection to the Marathon series wich many people have talked about, and of course the beatiful and incredible music. The story is the best I have ever seen, so deep and original, and three books are even out to explain it all, I just can't imagine how incredible Halo-2 is gona be, lately I realized that is the game, and Half Life-2 wich I was a die hard diciple of before is only number two.
Oh and the gameplay and graphics are cool too. ^_^

Yup, XboX Doom 3 is scaled down like hell...

My PC has slight problems with UT2004 running on a "high" graphics level, I don't know if this PC can run Doom 3 without problems.

1300 is the ammount of money after you buy the PC Wiseman?

The most demanding game I have is NHL 2003, but it's pretty slow (I'm estimating 5-10 FPS in the game and about 2 in cut scenes >_<). When I get a computer of my own, you can bet it'll be a whole lot better.

Just to clarify, YES DooM3 for Xbox has been toned down. If you want me to, I'll go find the quote straight from Carmack (or whoever said it).

And there is nothing you can ever say that will convince me an FPS is better on a console than on a PC.

For once, I agree with you. No console FPS can ever beat a PC FPS.

That is correct, I play Halo on PC anyway, trying to play it on XboX was a nightmare...
Luckily, they changed some minor things on Halo before it got ported, if it was ported straight to PC it would probably not be as good as it is.

Lol, I'm curious if the game will play the same style as a powerpoint presentation. :D

I would try it in my notebook (P4 2800MHz, 512MB DDR RAM, ATI RADEON Mobility 9000 64MB), but it seems Doom 3's graphics engine uses the cards in a different way, that makes them overheat. I won't risk damaging my notebook. Again.

edit: it only overheats notebook cards. Desktop ones with a better cooling system won't.

It works fine in my old machine (with minimum detail) :)

Haven't played it, Alec. It's on N64, which neither me or my friends possess. So no comment. ^_______________^

I prefer Perfect Dark. Mostly because when I play it, I'm doing it with three of my friends and the multiplayer is better on PD. Although it's amazing how much slowdown on it we used to tolerate (we finally reached our limit when we played a game with 8 meatsims and combat boost.)
