Did anyone have the same problem with this board for several hours just now, with the whole site ironycentral.com giving a 403 Forbidden message? And if so, does anyone have a clue what happened? -------------------- "And all should cry, Beware, Beware! His Flashing eyes, his Floating hair!" S. T. You weren't alone - I suffered this same problem and am still perplexed. My initial theory was that some power-hungry mod decided to ban me for some reason (this was when I initially got out of bed if anyone finds this "logic" offensive") but I knew that made no sense later. Later still, I found that all of Irony Central was down and thus knew it to be a technical problem. Other than that, I know nothing further. ---Your in-the-dark maniac, Necris Omega -------------------- Sanity is a relative concept. And like most my relatives, I rarely see it. lol, I had the same initial theory of my being banned. I've been soul-searching for offensive stuff I might have said last night when I was tired... -------------------- "And all should cry, Beware, Beware! His Flashing eyes, his Floating hair!" S. T. If you are banned, you can still read the boards, just not post. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Yes, I can see how banning wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't for that. -------------------- Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned I'll tell you my story, man Though I wish I'd never been born I'm loose at the seams, I've broken my dreams And my hand it shakes the pen Come on, come on now baby, Let the good times roll again Posts: 961 | Registered: Thursday, June 12 2003 07:00 |

Sort of disturbing we all thought the same thing when confronted with the same Forbidden message. I didn't think wtriting the word "dick" (in a GC forum, not less) would be enough in itself to get me banned though. Just as Calvinist examination of conscience was motivated by predestination, so ours are by the Mods. Posts: 2333 | Registered: Monday, January 7 2002 08:00 |

Richard? This has happened to me several times, but I always thought it was a problem on my end of the wire, er, cable. -------------------- Tip of the Day: #13 Stand clear the closing door. Yeah, I had the same problem here too. I didn't think I was banned, I thought my computer was crashing again. I developed a method for finding out whether or not the problem lies in my computer. I talk to a friend on Yahoo messenger and ask themto check out the same site I am having trouble with. Usually the response is that they can't connect to it either. Only fallacy with this method is the fact that I have so few people to talk to. On Yahoo Messenger I have only 4 or 5 contacts. 3 of them are family, one is a friend, and the other is an aquaintance on the internet. On AOL Messenger I have only two contacts. And they are both friends that are rarely ever on AOL Messenger. As for MSN, I have only two contacts there as well. One is a friend and the other is my sister-in-law. I get so few emails, that I am lucky if I get one a day. I have several email boxes with Yahoo and one main one with pa.net. I just don't have anyone to chat to except on this forum. Oh, well. 'Dick' = 'pecker', somewhat archiac and mildly offensive slang for the male generative organ. Posts: 2333 | Registered: Monday, January 7 2002 08:00 |
