I felt exactly the same way. Tried it 50-60 times with my level 42 party....DEAD each time. I used the wand to escape the scenario, left, beat a whole different scenario and came back with my party at level 48 and beat him the second time! I have been getting the same "Unhandled Exception: c000005 At adress: 00449288 when I try to leave. I have been enjoying this scenario...but I have tried for hours to power the teleporter, but for the life of me, can't figure out the prper placement of the 2 mirrors! So I am stuck. I tried that. I download the zip file to my desktop and them unzipped it to: C:\Program Files\Blades of Avernum\Blades of Avernum Scenarios\At The Gallows (that was the scenario I downloaded) and it doesn't come up!
