Oh, I'm sorry, Ratt.
But we shapers don't make mistakes.
You're obviously one of those evil ones that gets into my cornflakes.
No free pass past the Alpha for you.

Weird glitch with NPC stats (Celt) in Nethergate

WARNING: SPOILERS.

I was playing as the Celts, and after I'd seen the crones, and visited the fairy-lady in the ruined keep, I ran to Vanarium to grab some help. The NPCs didn't want anything to do with me on account of the curse the crones had placed me under, so I went to the Bazaar and saw what's-her-name, and she said she needed a fresh dragon scale. So, I went to see the dragon. I beat the stuffing out of the little lizards, got to see the mighty scalehead, and he informed me that he'd shed one of his scales in a small room at the west? end of his castle. I found it, took it to the old lady, she de-cursed me, I went to Vanarium to pick up an NPC. Now, I saved before I grabbed one, so I could get a look at one's scores and abilities, then grab the other and look at his.
Oddly, both of them had:
4 Strength
6 Dexterity
6 Intelligence
6 Endurance
4 Melee Weapons
4 Spears
4 Slings
4 Javalins
And zeroes for every other skill.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Bearing in mind I haven't yet gotten to Burwood province...

1: So far, Miranda. I usually want to hug that little ray of sunshine. "Hey, freak!"

2: Black Rabbit? You run into him in Illya. He's at the top of my head.

3: Shapers. I agree with some of the moral standpoints and theories of the rebels, but as Nioca said - the shapers didn't need to be overthrown, if any change was necessary it should have come from civil debates before the Council. Those rebel scum started an unnecessary war and millions of innocents have suffered for it. Perhaps the Serviles should be treated better, but now serviles and outsiders and shapers die by the gross. Justice?

4: Mass Energize. A spell that makes my battle creations fast, strong, and regenerate? Wonderful.

5: Battle Alphas and Thahds. Rotgrohths I oppose on the level that they remind me too much of zombies, and clawbugs just aren't as cool as imagining an Alpha punching some Trakovite's head off. I haven't made a War Trall, yet. And if you haven't guessed, I heavily favour battle creations in general.

6: High eight, low nine. The only way to improve it would be a multiplayer option and a playerbase that actually roleplays.

Specific enemy? I can see it now...

A shaper sits between two pools of essence, meditating on the task he will undertake. Before him is a copper circle with gold channeling to direct the flows of energy. The shaper rises to his feet, drawing on his powers and vast knowledge, and essence begins to run from the pools up onto the circle. A massive shape begins to form, growing clearer with every passing minute. It is vaguely humanoid, but built powerfully, with toughened, leathery skin over an almost comically exaggerated skeleton. When the shaping is finished, the enormous Battle Alpha waits patiently for the orders of his master.

"I have a purpose for you, creation, and your name will reflect this. I will call you... Ratsquisher."

As a passing interest, I was wondering how many of us change the names of our creations? If you do, what do you change them to, and why? If not, is there a reason, or do you just not consider it worth the bother?

Personally, I always WANT to rename my creations. Unfortunately, I've noticed that when I invest in any sort of name for a creation, I worry too much about keeping them alive, sometimes actually bothering to raise attributes beyond the usual 2 intelligence. As a pro-shaper, I should not feel such attachment to my creations. If/when I play a pro-rebel, I may try investing heavily in just a few creations. For flavour.

Anyone else?

[EDIT: I should probably proofread before I hit post.]
