Please guys, make more topics. I know BoE is old, but so what? It's a classic game of spidweb, and it represents their quality. As a new member, I'd love to join in some chats, but at the momment I'm only into Blades, so I'd like to be involved in some other topics on it. Come on guys, bring back the olden days. :) Posts: 275 | Registered: Sunday, January 8 2006 08:00 |

If you want to see forums without many topics, look at Subterra! ;) :P -------------------- You know, why the Sliths are green - because of their scales. Maybe you know why some slith eyes were once red - ´cause the demons, which led them were red. But why are the eyes of the Slith Lord Followers red? Because they see the remains of their enemies always before the battle begins! Posts: 179 | Registered: Friday, November 25 2005 08:00 |

I might be tempted to point you here. There's still topics made here; they just don't come in the masses like General or something. -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

I think, too, that a lot of the people who have these games are players, not chatters. Many try them, then put them on a shelf to try something else, but the ones who are still active are simply enjoying the playing of the games. Because these games have been around for a while, and there are so many BoE Scenarios, a lot of us are still playing Scenarios that are "new" to us. Old timers tend to get comfortable. me Posts: 257 | Registered: Wednesday, February 12 2003 08:00 |

EDIT: On second thought, it's more of the same problem in BoA. Go see the BoA forum. And of course, nobody updates the scenario tables. But that's nothing new. I don't think there's that many scenarios out there to update with. Is it just me, or are BoA scenarios much slower in coming out than BoE? -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

quote:I think its because some people find it troublesome that you have to download the scenario editor. With BoE you didn't have to. Besides, the BoA editor looks pretty hard to master. I'll never get the hang of it. :( Posts: 275 | Registered: Sunday, January 8 2006 08:00 |

I'll be buying BoE after I finish up Avernum 4 (yeah, I'm going backwards a little) so I'll be sure to post some questions and topics then. Posts: 64 | Registered: Tuesday, April 12 2005 07:00 |

Eh, the BoA editor is pretty easy to get the hang of once you get used to it. You just do all your special nodes in text files with C script, which probably gave me an advantage because I already knew C++. But anyway, it's not that hard. However, BoA scenarios are more complex, have more potential, and therefore take longer to make. -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

I find the BoE editor much easier to use, and I have programming experience too. I think it's the fact that everything is in one place right in front of you and everything has visual representation. -------------------- "At times discretion should be thrown aside, and with the foolish we should play the fool." - Menander ==== Drakefyre's Demesne - Happy Happy Joy Joy Encyclopedia Ermariana - Trapped in the Closet ==== You can take my Mac when you pry my cold, dead fingers off the mouse! Yeah, the BoE editor still is easier to use. However, the BoA editor is still not hard. -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Jeff would have to release the source code for it, or somebody would have to reverse-engineer it. Neither has ever happened, but maybe someday Jeff will release the source. Actually, people have reverse engineered it, but we can't talk about that on these forums. -------------------- "As our circle of knowledge expands, so does the circumference of darkness surrounding it." --Albert Einstein -------------------- Posts: 536 | Registered: Sunday, September 7 2003 07:00 |

And other people prefer to keep resurrection limited to Exile games, rather than the forums. EDIT: Ouch. I got burned. Bad. quote:However, most people prefer to let moderators do their job without interference. Especially when somebody who has recently returned to the forums after long absence is adding relevant information to a thread which is still on page 1. EDIT: It is particularly ironic to see this form of back-seat moderating on a topic complaining about low forum activity.
