hey, I am playing through Exile III for like the 5th time, and I just now found these treasure chests that I can't reach. They are in the lower caves of the giants, when you take the stairs to the Subterranean Lake (59,6). Anyone have any idea how you reach them? There are like 4 of them, just north of the treasure room with the map in it... edit: and i tried searching everywhere for an answer already [ Tuesday, January 15, 2008 04:24: Message edited by: goblin5767 ] Posts: 4 | Registered: Tuesday, January 15 2008 08:00 |

It's been a long time since I've played E3 all the way through, but I think there's a secret passage somewhere that will let you reach it. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. I wall-humped my way for a good 10 minutes or so, and got nothing. There are some stairs you can reach (by walking over lava) that take you to an island in the middle of the lake, but I can't walk on water to reach them Posts: 4 | Registered: Tuesday, January 15 2008 08:00 |

Sorry if I wasted your time, I haven't seriously played E3 since early 2004. However, I did take a massive amount of notes on nearly everything, and will look them over. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. Been there, done that. Perfectly understandable. By the way, I found out how to get to that island. In the Caves of the Giants, there's a staircase in the northeast corner; it's on the other side of the river of lava, so you'll need Firewalk to avoid damage. However, there's no boat from the island, but a puzzle you need to solve. I'm currently working on solving it. Edit: Solved it. (spoiler) Apparently, you can walk diagonally on certain spaces of water to reach the edge of the chamber, which creates a new space of land. Start by going northwest for the first space, then start southwest from that new space to create a second space; then cross from the second new space to reach the chests--as long as you have Dispel Barrier. Qustion: How does a guy walk on Lava anyway without firewalk? Shouldn't he instantly be incinerated? After all you'd have to swim through it rather then walk on it. -------------------- "Fear that which mortality has rejected" -Galvin Magnus Posts: 942 | Registered: Sunday, October 8 2006 07:00 |

High health and lots of healing to fix those burns. Lava can be crossed to support weight depending on whether it's pure or carrying rocks with it and its depth. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |
