I don't know whether this has been mentioned before, but anyway...

The very first time i found out about Exile was off a old Mac demo disc many years back, which had the unregistered versions of Exile 1 and 2 on it.

However, when i downloaded Exile for my Windows computer, i noticed that all the graphics were much different from the ones on my Mac. The Mac ones seemed more 'cartoony', yet they seemed clearer and more appropriate, in a word 'better' than the ones currently avaliable for Windows download.

Is this because of a difference in the operating system, or was it an older version of Exile?

'Twas an older version. The older graphics are still available, here and there, if you know who to ask.

There was an older version of exile with very different-looking graphics. They're available... uh... somewhere online. Or here. The list links are the links you want.

I think the older graphics were way better.
The new ones just seem to look a little bit... strange

I think the dark grey cave floor can be a bit displeasing to the eyes if you have to stare at it for long enough.

Yippee! More graphics. :)

I disagree that they're better though. The cartoony feel is good at times but the level of detail is greatly decreased and the sliths just look plain bad. (of course, it's hard to make a good slith in the first place) I prefer a minimal shading and depth in graphics. The ogre imo is really good.

Was there no standing/attacking stance difference?

I liked the new graphics a lot better. Even though even that blue-green cave floor can get old after a while. The white of BoE is even better.

Oh you didn't get the sound files. :( I can live.

I had a short look at the graphics, and I founf them way nicer then the ones currently used. They are much funnier. The Nephilim I find better then the current ones.

Bah! The windows graphics are better. They portray a grittier and more realistic world for me :P . Some games have too much polish... really.
