I have a firewall. In fact, my family has another computer dedicated to keeping the firewall up, so it's VERY powerful. Or at least that's what it seems like. As Felwynne already said those game sites for cheat codes have lots of nasty little pop-ups that can give you all kinds of surprises. Something like that must have happened. You can download spybot which will probably solve this problem at least. spybot The download section is at the bottom of the page. Removes spyware and trojans. -------------------- Polaris Rache's A3 Site reformatted 2/3 done Rache's A3 Site, original version Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

Djur was right. Mostly PEBKAC-compatibility issues here. Thankfully, they're pretty easy to fix. -------------------- desperance -- je me souviens arena -- et je me souviens de vous Posts: 2449 | Registered: Monday, October 15 2001 07:00 |

Since you seem to avoid asking for friends' or family's help - have you been surfing sites you shouldn't have visited? If you have to get rid of that Xupiter-thing before you can confront your father, I'll help you. :) -------------------- Polaris Rache's A3 Site reformatted 2/3 done Rache's A3 Site, original version Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

Well, I got rid of almost everything I could spare, and I freed 500 megs so far, so I have around 844megabytes right now, and my coputer still needs to recover 40 megs from playing 3D games. Heheheheh. -------------------- -Zephyr Tempest, your personal entertainer Posts: 1779 | Registered: Monday, December 9 2002 08:00 |

As for blocking malicious "Cookeis," you can also try this: Assuming that you're using IE 6.0, go to Tools->Internet Options-> Privacy. Change Settings to "Block All Cookies." If a website that you ABSOLUTELY have to use and it uses Cookies to store username and password (e.g. Hotmail), lower the defenses to "Medium-High" for that site. Don't forget to add the following to the "Web Sites" list under "Privacy" (if you're not sure whether the web page where the cookies are coming from is a .com or a .net, simply add both): doubleclick.net gator.com fastclick.net hitbox.com valueclick.com xupiter.com (Set ALL of them to "Always Block.")
