Tom Bombadil? I remember that name from somewhere, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Is he that crazy rhyming guardian of the forest in the Fellowship of the Ring. EDIT: You misspelled sequel. Actually Tom Bombadil is the freaky dude which saves the hobbits from being eaten by a willow tree in the first volume. He is the oldest. That means that he was there before Druin The Deathless or even Fangorn. Ya we are talking about the same guy. Sorry about the misspell of Durin. And Elrond and Celebron themself say that Tom is the oldest. Am not sure but even Fangorn calls him the Oldest... Dosent he ? He is also called the oldest by Elrond and Gorfindel in The Silmarillion. --How do I get a good rating? **spoiler** At the end of A3,rentar says something about a curse that will affect the children,right? In VODT,the curse effects the children the worst,correct? And the vahnatai(sp?) in the school vanish without any notice.
