1: Should I download the BoE demo and practice making scenerios with that to get a feel for what BoA will be like? 2: Will you be adding the ability to use dual weild? I feel that is the one thing missing from the trilogy. 3: Any chance of some underwater effects to allow us to make some underwater scenerios? Underwater scenarios were possible in BoE, using custom terrain and special nodes, so I assume that they will remain possible. Dual-wielding seems unlikely, since it would require a major change in graphics and some work on the engine. The best you can do is make a single weapon called 2 [whatever it is] and make it two-handed, slightly worse than actually twice the base weapons strength. [Edit: Off-topic, your signature contains profanity that is banned by the Code of Conduct. Please change it.] —Alorael, who can't imagine that practice with BoE would hurt. Still, the engines are significantly different, so it may not be as helpful as it could be. But getting BoE is a good idea in and of itself! I wouldn't go as far do download BoE now, because I think, (and I sure hope), that Blades of Avernum will be quite different, and much better than Blades of Exile. By the way, what Spiderweb games have you actually played? As for dual wield, I like that idea, but Jeff may have some vague reason,(that might make sense in the future), for taking away the dual wield. I'll bet that custom terrain graphics will be very tough to make for us young people who aren't graphic artists. But I think you could do something with that. Some people have made scenarios with 2D graphics already, and it looks real, too. As for downloading and registering BoE, Blades of Avernum won't be out for a while, and it's a good idea to do it. Well ive just played the Avernum ones. I downloaded a few demos of their other games, but a huge gamer I am not. I mostly just play RPG's and really dig the storyline and the gameplay for the avernum series. Plus I like to make game scenerios (Is why I bought NWN). I don't want to be you when TM reads this. That's nonsense, in more than one way. Not all of TM's graphics are bad, and some are very good. Basides, there are many bad graphics out there by people other than TM. If you want to see some great graphics, have a look at Tim Farland or Luz Piazuelo's work. If you want to see really bad ones, download The Grinch and have a look at the graphics file. Defending TM... I can't believe I've been reduced to this. ;) -------------------- Rate my scenarios! There's really no reason for a new class. The ones that already exist are adequate, since they really have only minimal impact on gameplay. Most Avernum players probably use the custom class anyway. —Alorael, who can't think of any role a monk would fill that another class doesn't. The scripting will probably be slightly harder to use than BoE's node system, but not terrible. If BoA is at all like BoE, it will be so user-friendly that you won't even need to open the documentation and look for help until you're trying to do very complicated things. —Alorael, who imagines that this board will qualify as help for the aspiring scenario designer. They won't bother to add a new class. It's really best just to use custom, that's what the game encourages anyway. Schrodinger made the first custom BoA graphic. It's a sort of blue blob thing, a water elemental, I believe. I made a few walls, along with an earth elemental and wind elemental. I'm pretty good with making simple graphics, although I can't do complicated things like griffons. After I finish converting my characters to BoA format, I'll make some more graphics.
