I'm having a slight balance dilemma with my scenario. I am attempting to make the combat in my scenario challenging, yet not frustrating. I have a L66 party that's run through most scenarios to date, and it appears to be handling the combat okay. However, HLPM parties are getting chewed up (literally and metaphorically) by the fights. I know, HLPM parties are weaker than normal parties, but these guys are getting pwned so badly that I'm starting to wonder if my L66 party is more powerful than a normal party should, or if I somehow manage overpower my parties. Therefore, I have a request. I need some non-HLPM parties that are leveled within the range of 55 to 75. I don't care if they consist of a singleton or a full party, nor do I mind whether they consist entirely of mages or warriors. I just need some parties from an outside source to determine whether the difficulty of my combat is too high, or if it's on-target. A party that was created via HLPM at low levels (5-25) should be okay, so long as they have gone through several scenarios since. You can e-mail them to niocacitadel (AT) hotmail.com (replace the AT with @, no spaces) Thanks again! -------------------- Scenarios need reviews! I'll send you my level 61 party. I've beaten every scenario with it including Canopy and Bahs. The party is a bit unbalanced, since it features 3 warriors and 1 mage/priest, but it gets by since one of those warriors now uses Adlerauge for bow support. Edit: Good point Tyran, the one I sent is for PC. Hopefully that will be useful to you. Have you tried a HLPM-Artifacts Hall party? The HLPM is supposed to be used with the Artifacts Hall, you know. The new version out later this month (read: after I'm done judging scenarios) will spell this out much more explicitly. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. That's not the only thing that affects it, in my opinion. When you have the party go through scenarios, they gain levels at a slow an steady rate. However, you also learn what your party's strengths and weaknesses are, and thus can modify your skills accordingly. Essentially, your party evolves, and can better fight enemies in the future because their evolved skill set balances offense and defense. HLPM parties lack this evolving process, and thus tend to have flaws in their design that make them weaker. Also, standard parties, by the time they hit L60, generally have purchased some skills from a trainer, or used some knowledge brews (extra skill points), and other party-altering stuff that HLPM parties don't initially have access to, and partially never will. -------------------- Scenarios need reviews! quote:On the other hand, the reverse can also be true: since a HLPM party doesn't have to be effective at every level from 1 onwards, it's possible to make highly specialised builds that would be ineffective at lower levels. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! True, but you have to be very careful when it comes to distributing your skill points. Otherwise, you can leave a party with a inhibited offensive or defensive capability. Also, it doesn't explain how to counter-act this: quote:EDIT: I almost forgot. Initial testing using Lazarus's party are seeming to indicate that the difficulty is too high. I'd like at least two more parties before I make a decision, though. [ Monday, December 04, 2006 07:43: Message edited by: Nioca ] -------------------- Scenarios need reviews!
