I had RSI problems when I was younger, but I don't any more. I think my wrists have shifted somehow to adapt to the conditions I'm constantly putting them under. That would make the most sense, anyway, as I'm a terrifying mutant who can spend 18+ hours a day on the computer and still have 20/20 vision and not suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome. -------------------- desperance -- je me souviens arena -- et je me souviens de vous Posts: 2449 | Registered: Monday, October 15 2001 07:00 |

You're still young. Give it 10-20 years, see how your back's holding up after that. -------------------- ... Posts: 647 | Registered: Wednesday, February 19 2003 08:00 |

I've been using computers pretty much constantly for a good 10 years now, and I started out on monitors and keyboards designed MUCH less with ergonomic concerns in mind than my current ones :P -------------------- desperance -- je me souviens arena -- et je me souviens de vous Posts: 2449 | Registered: Monday, October 15 2001 07:00 |

I have wrist pain every once in a while that lasts about 3 days and then goes away... my mom thinks it's carpal tunnel syndrome... what do you people think? I spend about 3 hrs a day on the computer and I play the piano... -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL Les forum de la chance. You can also get shortered tendons on your fingers from computer. (a self thought theory) If you bow your fingers, which you do to type on your keyboard, your triceps of your fingers relax, and become longer. The tendons shorten as long as you bow your fingers because the relaxed triceps serves use therefor, that moment. If you bow your fingers constantly, (or type on your computer constantly) your tendons stay shortened, so that it's harder to stiffen your fingers and "easier" to bow them. To avoid this, or perhaps even cure this, I think you have to stiffen your fingers occasionally to avoid shortened tendons. Um, not very long actually... about 15-20 minutes a day. More recently because of NYSSMA. -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL Les forum de la chance.
