Slarty,

quote:
Sooner can a Fatman pass through the eye of a needle than can...
I think I can do all of the below...

IMAGE(http://www.startatthecross.net/photos/eye-of-the-needle-s.40.jpg)

Eye of the needle at At Val d'Isere,

IMAGE(http://www.turningwood.fsnet.co.uk/hillwalking/needle.JPG)

Eye of the needle on Cobbler Peak At Arrochar Alps, Scotland (not a great image of the eye)

IMAGE(http://climb-utah.com/Zion/Files/oc-sf5.jpg)

Eye of the needle, just outside Zion National Park, Utah. This one is most ironic since I actually climb for exercise.

Self-explanatory and worth the look (best of the above IMHO

;)

Edit: Oh, and Slarty, here is a religious take on proper interpretation of camels and needles, complete with images, I chuckled:

Slarty, this goes back to "Alorael gets a custom title", p.5 discussion wherein Aussieavernum wondered how to get a custom title...I requested one and you responded with the quote noted above.

Yes, I know.

?_? is still the best description I could come up with for my reaction.

I take it I'm not getting that spiffy new custom title to park in my garage then? :(

Well, you're not getting one from me. Nobody is. I'm not an admin, silly.

And the best way not to get one is to ask for one in public.

Or to mock the whole effort with postings such as these.

I don't think it matters if it's whining or mocking; the key part is the excessive verbal masturbation.

Or you can spam excessively sorta like this. Or you can get a very nice Canned title, that maybe custom enough as very few have it as long as you do something to break the CoC but please make it amusing.

This whole topic is a long stream of spam. Thus I offer four words:
In Before The Lock.

For my first time: IBTL.

:P

"Alorael gets a custom title": this is the most bad topic that I ever created. Next time I will use PM. Sorry.

You know, if we just ignore this topic, odds are, it won't get locked. So everyone who posts "In before the lock" is really saying "I'm partially responsible for getting this topic locked."

Or we could turn it into something useful. For instance: Fatman, you could spend a week making a list of what custom titles you would give members and then post the list at the end of the week. Sure, Synergy did that once, but that was Synergy, not Fatman. The results are likely to be very different. :P

Dikiyoba is wise as usual. Yes, I think that's a good idea. I think it would be quite amusing.

I'll do it anyways. Shotgun the in before the lock. These spammers are annoying, no matter my part in the topic in question. Who's taking their sweet old time in locking already?

I declare a new rule by fiat: anyone who posts "in before the lock" or the like is both giving implicit permission for that post to be edited without mercy or explanation and permission for another post in any other thread to be similarly edited.

You have been warned.

—Alorael, who is also often disinclined to lock IBTL threads. Especially ones like this one, which isn't all that bad.

Yeah, I have to say, an excellent idea. Will be included in the CoC?

Why'd you have to do that for? I was starting to have fun here.

You know, I find it curious/funny that this has turned into a spamming topic. This all came about as a result of gentle sparring between Slarty and me, after which I happened upon a picture that illustrated his point to me - I was merely hoping to bring humor to that poor Slarty, perhaps a tear to the eye.

I personally feel that a custom title should be given freely from an admin on the basis that that person has contributed in some menaingful way to these boards and the title itself reflects on a characteristic of that person, known to the mod who grants the title. It is a boon, unexpected and undeserved but to be richly cherished and held in high honor.

Only administrators can give out custom titles. Otherwise Alorael would have given himself one by now.

Fatman, you have inspired Dikiyoba to write this poem. *Ahem*
