FYT :P

FYTF. :P

Also, it is said that people can become creative when they need to figure out solutions to problems. I suppose if you really want your ranking, you can try to figure out the protection yourself and bypass it. :P

FYT. Sorry, dear, couldn't resist.

And Aran, I suppose if anyone really wants the rankings, they can just count the stupid things by hand, checking every thread in every forum for posts falling within the relevant dates, for all members.

I mean, it's not like there's anyone here who has a shortage of free time...

Nothing prevents someone else from duplicating Aran's work and gathering posting stats.

Except good taste, maybe.

I'm still at a loss as to how to open and get data from outside files using PHP. How do you, Aran?

Hmmm... maybe that stretches credibility a bit too far... Let us just imagine that once upon a time, his hideous habits had not yet left their scars on his vocal chords. That might just work in terms of legend.

Hey, Aran. Where do you keep your list of member login names again?

These statistics have no point without the rankings. They didn't have a lot of point even with the rankings, but they certainly have none now.

People will still spam for post count and titles anyway.

I'm now going to start an endless list of FYT's, each more insulting and kitten-hating.
FYT

But, on a more serious note, while it gives me something to amuse myself at how little I was here, I must say that the removal of the rankings is a good thing.

Depending on your configuration, getting outside files could be disabled. However, there are three different commands that can normally read the content of outside files.

include(url)When used on a PHP script on the same server, it executes that script as if it were in the same page. When used on a normal page (or a url prefixed with http - even on the same server) it opens or executes that page and echoes the output.

fopen(url, mode)This will open a file for reading (r), writing (w) or in several other modes. It works on outside files too, although of course only in reading mode.

copy(url, destination)This will copy the file in "url" to the path in "destination". The url can be on another server.

This last is the one I've used for the endeavor. That shouldn't say anything, because that stat counter is a script I wrote before I actually learned PHP, and over the months I've been making continuous small changes so that it'll keep working despite the odds. If I ever have time... :P

Jewels: Up to now, I've just been gathering a list of all your passwords through a mixture of secret deals with the government and use of alien technology. I haven't gotten around to finding out the login names yet. :P

Here is a list that Aran forgot to disable. It ends though with Member 5777.

So far I've managed to stay away from this thread, believing Aran's claim that he was not trying to push a political agenda with his moment of silence for a "peace activist". However, if spy.there insists on turning this into a political debate, why don't we talk about all the young women blown to pieces for the crime of living in a country that some people want to erase from the map, for example, about a girl that I knew: Marla Benett. Considering that Palestinians just elected Hamas, the "political party" that sponsored many of the suicide bombings and whose platform calls for destruction of Israel, and that after Israel left Gaze, Palestinians started to fire rockets at Israeli towns, instead of Gaza settlements they were attacking before, Israeli bulldozers look to me like the least of the obstacles to Middle East peace.

EDIT: Sorry about name confusion.

I don't think ef has posted in this topic, Zeviz. Perhaps you meant spy.there.

And, uh, perhaps we should leave it there.

:) Zeviz, as pleased as I am, to be mistaken with ef: I am spy.there still.

And I wondered only about the coincidence that I remembered this girl accurately at her memorial-day. Needs no political debate.

edit: uh, Ash beats me with that

tAran - HA! You have slaved for nothing for I have in total but ONE password!! Everything else is just a decoy. :P

Spy.there: That refers to "displayed names", not "login names". We ordinary non-mods can't see the latter.

That is also why I mentioned the password list, which would be about equally accessible to me.

Jewels: My sarcasm detector is shut off for tonight. I meant "all your" passwords, as in all those of the community, not all those of you, Jewels.

I forgot to add earlier - since it is actually displayed names you're looking for, I do in fact have a program that displays all members (by postcount, however, not by id).

http://www.ermarian.net/endeavor/listall.php

Unfortunately, when I looked at the source, it turned out to be a godawful mess. Fortunately you don't notice this while using it...

Edit: I fixed it up a bit and added optional sorting after id, name and postcount.
