We can talk here for 289 posts on the many names of TM, while totally disregarding the fact that Alorael changes his username almost daily. The only way I can tell it's him when he posts is he's always on the end of the moderator list and because of his "sig" (Alorael, who......). How many usernames have you had (on estimate, maybe)? -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

You may know this, but he only started that when he reached post 7500, lamenting that his title would never again change (7500 is as high as you can go on the title gauntlet). Before then, for 7500 posts, his username was always Alorael, except for, apparently, Skribbane Addict for a few hours. -------------------- fame fame fatal fame it can play hideous tricks on the brain Posts: 407 | Registered: Friday, May 14 2004 07:00 |

I am somehow worried because of Alorael's actual name. In fact I dont know what exactly he does with skribbane - but I know that you can surely get ruined lungs if you smoke it a lot. I might stick to my trusty old name for a while, however, I have slightly considered just "ben" or something like that, since that's just what everybody calls me. And, I've only been here since June, so I'm a relative newbie, and Alorael has always been over 7,500 posts while I was here. So, I figure he must have become a mod after the 7.5k mark, as I thought all mods assume the title "blademaster," and it doesn't change. (correct me if I'm wrong here) Anyway, he has had a lot of usernames. :) -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Naw, Alorael's been a mod long before I first got here (in January 03). Mods do get Blademaster as a title, but only in the forums they mod. In all other forums (I'm not sure how many there are that Alo doesn't mod), they have the ordinary titles. Anyway, the point of the titles is less as titles per se, more as goals for your post count... you know... I'm almost to 1000, etc. Alorael is really only shooting for 10k now, which might take a while. -------------------- fame fame fatal fame it can play hideous tricks on the brain Posts: 407 | Registered: Friday, May 14 2004 07:00 |

Well then, in my opinion, there should be a title for 10k, 25k, and 50k, just to continue the tradition. :) (not that anybody going to get that much, but...) Also, is Alorael the only one to be considered "Your Postliness"? -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Alo is the only one over 7500, yes. Drakey's pretty close behind (7112 at the present moment), but he has a custom title anyway, so it would never show up. I don't know if anyone without a custom title is even "Frolicking in Postland." I think the highest thing you'll see around here is "Guru." -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. I just realized that I have written more than a hundred posts in the past week. My Veteran status topic was on July 22nd. That's an average of about 14 per day, or nearly one every waking hour. At that rate, it will STILL take me 67 weeks (roughly 15 months) to get to where Alorael is now. I personally think Alo is being silly for believing that he started the name-changing-thingy. Why do I think so? Well, let me explain, we all (or us "oldbies", at least) know that the whole thing was invented by member #2884, who has now, unfortunately, disappeared from the community, completely. :( -------------------- The Great Mister kommari@gmail.com[/url] Posts: 417 | Registered: Sunday, June 27 2004 07:00 |

He doesn't believe he started it, you fool. He's just the only one to change his name every single day as a form of protest. And I thought he was just angry because he didn't like his title. I believe for a week or so back in '03, I was posting at a clip of around seventeen a day. That was heady stuff. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, I'll never come close to matching that rate again. -------------------- Stughalf "Delusion arises from anger. The mind is bewildered by delusion. Alas, my posting rate has slowed considerably. I only got to this topic now! It's sad, in a way... Slightly over 8 posts per day. Once upon a time I was a proud producer of far more than that. At least I can say that none of my posts have been shorter than two lines! I know exactly how many PDNs I've had. I even know what they all have been. Now comes the quiz: how many can you come up with? And to answer another question, I've been a mod since... April of '02, I think. Maybe early May. There was a debacle involving a certain banner and the end result was a contested election that landed me a mod spot on the Misc. forum. Misc. is now closed, but Drakey stuck me on GC (joy), which has recently become RWG, and then ET. He notified me of neither one. —Alorael, who is not shooting for 10k posts. There's nothing left to shoot for, except for that custom title that Drakey still won't give him. The tyranny! Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

i came back JUST before the TM/Scorp vs ADoS thing... blah, i don't even remember what happened anymore. anyway, i used to post a lot too, at least while Misc still existed... after that i just slowed down considerably. EDIT: and yes, i have changed my name 3487123947092170 times, but it's always had some form of the word "Wise" in there somewhere. I remember The Hypotenuse of the Square, Crystal something, Pnematically Post-op I believe was yesterday's. Frankly, though, I don't keep track of these things like I should. :P Hopefully you are, Alorael, so you can provide us with a list sometime. EDIT: Actually, I'm going to start keeping a list right now.
