This feels like spam, but whatever. My desktop should come as no surprise to those who know me: http://www.buffy.nu/IMG/jpg/1069808963.jpg (only much higher resolution, of course :P ).

EDIT: Grab does screenshots for OS X.

EDIT 2: That link apparently no longer goes to the original picture, which was Michelle Trachtenberg in the beach scene in Eurotrip.

My desktop is just a huge picture of the Andromeda Galaxy and a few icons (I'm too lazy to snap a screenshot now, and yes, I'm a big astronomy fan.)

There should be a "print screen" button on your keyboard. Press that. Then open up MS Paint, or photoshop or something and click edit > paste.

Badabingbadaboom. There's your screenshot. Save it. Then you need hostination. If you don't have any webspace, try www.yoxio.com.

EDIT: The cat is saying "Several times have I stopped along this bank, gazing out over the clear blue water, at the thyme and the roses and the arch of the clear blue sky, and I have pondered on the brevity of mortal existence."

I made it myself.

Did you make that in MS Paint? Very nice!

Maybe someday I'll make a thread to display MS Paint drawrings. I like to use them for story telling purposes. :D

Northern and all about, silly. Nobody but the americans (and not all of them, at that) leaves out the u in honour, colour, flavour, yada yada.

AND THE MAJORITY IS ALWAYS RIGHT, FOO

Is it? Really?

[/skeptical]

Anyway, I don't know who puts the 'u' in there and who leaves it out. I'm not really one to talk. I'm originally from Long Island. We take the 'R' out of words like 'car' and 'park', and stick them at the end of words like 'pizzer' and 'soder'.

But that's more pronunciation, than spelling. But like I said. No offense meant. Just joking aboot. I mean ABOUT! ;)

Also, my Desktop hasn't changed from the last time. I won't bother posting a link to it.

It's big, though. Real big. 1.2 megs, 1200x. I have a big desktop, what can I say.

Red is what I use on a regular basis, and black obviously what I don't want the man to see.

I usually have some piece of SF artwork adorning my Macintosh desktop. Usually something by Paul Lehr, Richard Powers, or some Doctor Who picture, but at the moment it's a Todd Lockwood painting:

Andrew Hunter is another favorite (surprise, surprise!). Aside from his startup screens for the Spiderweb games, he has a few posted on his website, such as:

Being on geocities, the address has to be copied and entered into the address bar, like always.

I made that thing myself with Terragen, btw. It alternates with another Terragen picture and several wallpapers for Myst, Riven and Exile Velocity Nova.
