Miocrosoft recently released the Technical Review for Win XP SP2http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/maintain/sp2chngs.mspx [ Thursday, June 10, 2004 12:50: Message edited by: Borg ] -------------------- -Sylak, the inadvertant killer of threads Posts: 319 | Registered: Tuesday, May 14 2002 07:00 |

I have an XP but I don't like it much. It freezes and crashes way to much. I'm saving for a Dell or a Mac. My cast is off if anyone remembers (discussed three weeks ago). Hooray for me. -------------------- Espresso hasn't been invented yet. That stinks. Xian Skull- Avernum 3 Posts: 1287 | Registered: Thursday, August 14 2003 07:00 |

I'm sure a Dell will work far better than Windows XP. -------------------- AnamaFreak (3:59:56 AM): Shounen-ai to the MAX Misogynism is the wave of the future, but it sure pisses the womenfolk off. Shocking, isn't it? Posts: 2367 | Registered: Friday, June 27 2003 07:00 |

Is Dell even an OS? I know it's a brand of computers but it uses WinXP as it's operating system, or at least the latest ones do. If it is an OS, I've been missing out on something. EDIT: Confirmed- Dells are NOT an OS. [ Thursday, June 10, 2004 15:54: Message edited by: RC ] -------------------- Chance Forums Posts: 1307 | Registered: Tuesday, May 7 2002 07:00 |

Indeed Custer, I'm almost positive a Dell would work better than a lousy XP. -------------------- Espresso hasn't been invented yet. That stinks. Xian Skull- Avernum 3 Posts: 1287 | Registered: Thursday, August 14 2003 07:00 |

Let's try this again. A Dell is hardware. Windows XP is software; software which, incidentally, will come installed on your Dell. -------------------- I believe there are 15 747 724 136 275 002 577 105 653 961 181 555 468 044 717 914 527 116 709 366 231 425 076 185 631 031 296 protons in the universe, and the same number of electrons. -- Sir Arthur Eddington Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

The thought that, for some years, I have breathed the same air as you comes close to driving me to suicide. -------------------- AnamaFreak (3:59:56 AM): Shounen-ai to the MAX Misogynism is the wave of the future, but it sure pisses the womenfolk off. As always, I think Microsoft could do better, but I think SP2 is a step in the right direction. As for XP in general, if you take good care of the computer, you shouldn't eXPerience any big, consistent problems. Behaving like an idiot with a computer and disregarding its well-being will thrash it, doesn't matter whether it's Mac, PC, or any Linux variant. -------------------- AnamaFreak (3:59:56 AM): Shounen-ai to the MAX Misogynism is the wave of the future, but it sure pisses the womenfolk off. Regardless, trying to say 'eXPerience' is a crime against humanity. I'm still trying to work out whether failing to do so is better or worse... -E- -------------------- Let them eat cake! Polaris Boards: The System is Up. Perennially. Posts: 2314 | Registered: Tuesday, January 15 2002 08:00 |

I don't behave like an idiot with my computer, it runs it's utilities overnight, and I don't spend all day at VT loading/unloading shareware to see what it does I pretty much stick with Photoshop, 3D apps, iPhoto and the scaner -------------------- Scandalous Stories, fishing, and great photos Posts: 294 | Registered: Monday, November 24 2003 08:00 |

I thought that was what XP stood for. But concerning SP2, I can't believe it will take until fall before they can release it. -------------------- How do signature's work? -Keep Posts: 1415 | Registered: Thursday, March 27 2003 08:00 |

Somewhat unrelated, but The Inquirer (among other sites) have news concerning 2 newly discovered Microsoft Internet Explorer bugs. There is no patch available for them yet as they are in the -day infection category(Patch is made because of active infections or attacks). -------------------- How do signature's work? -Keep Posts: 1415 | Registered: Thursday, March 27 2003 08:00 |

chances aer your trying to use the wrong edition of XP if you computer crashes all the time and you do take care of it. *cough*home*cough* infact, even Microsoft reccomends Pro over Home. -------------------- -Sylak, the inadvertant killer of threads Posts: 319 | Registered: Tuesday, May 14 2002 07:00 |
