Occasionally PM's are overlooked for a long time, one's email goes down, and one must post here. Not often, but occasionally. —Alorael, who doesn't think TGM deserves to have his name back. A title, maybe, but not a name. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

If you two could somehow manage to pull off a title switch in addition to the moniker switch, this whole thing would be a hundredfold more vertigo-inducing. As it is, it's rather good. -------------------- "Let a man find himself, in distinction from others, on top of two wheels with a chain- at least in a poor country like Russia- and his vanity begins to swell out like his tires. Ahem. TGM, I can't change your account's name unless I log into it, and I don't want to do that. It's really not a big deal for me to have an account named TGM. If you want to change it, then change it yourself. And this is why I'm glad I know member numbers and have assigned unique titles. -------------------- "At times discretion should be thrown aside, and with the foolish we should play the fool." - Menander ==== Drakefyre's Demesne - Vahnatai Did Do It desperance.net - We're Everywhere The Arena - God Will Sort The Dead ==== You can take my Mac when you pry my cold, dead fingers off the mouse! And impersonating another member is a HUGE CRIME under the CoC, allowing the perpetrator to be ritually disembowelled before being thrown out into the dark chill places where invisible newbies are eaten. -------------------- KazeArctica: Oh yes. And why would anyone want to share accounts, switch names or have more than one account in the first place? Just wondering, so if you plan to disembowel me, expect to fail... -------------------- And that was exactly the point of itself. Takes advantage of the easily offended. People are very strange and do all sort of unaccountable things, just because they perceive them to be possible. Even our esteemed admin has a secret second account stashed away. Actually, some people get themselves multiple accounts to vote up their own karma. There are other twisted reasons, but that seems to be the main one. -------------------- KazeArctica: Oh yes. RC: Read spy.there's reply, as he probably is right, as long as we forget that he has no clue of what his speaking of. Alorael: Get a clue, please, I'm not in the right mood to accept *****ing of any sort. Jame: Ever heard of board bugs that destroy accounts? Yes? Ever heard of admins giving you a title you REALLY don't want (I'm a good example of this, by the way.)? Yes? Ever heard of the concept of fun? Yes? Good, now you know. The UBB sometimes refuses to let you choose a member name if the name has been used recently, and it has a very loose idea of what "recently" means. I think it gives a different message, though, so if it doesn't mention it then that probably isn't the problem. —Alorael, who isn't sure he can handle a TGM going by the name of TGM. The addition of unnecessary punctuation could make it tolerable, and it would get around the boards' refusal to accept the regular name rather nicely.
