Geneforge 1 probably wins out as the best just because it was original. The rest of the games while building on the previous games still seemed like it was redoing the same idea. That having been said I have really enjoyed going through the demo for G4 and it may end up being my favorite. I would rate G1 and G4 as the best, G2 being second best, and G3 being my least favorite. I did not like having to go to the docks to travel around the differant islands. I still remember when I first saw the whole map in the original Geneforg. I kept looking at it to see if I could tell where the next town was. I was also really interested in getting to those doors that were shown in the North East of the map. The first game just had more intrigue. I had a real interest in the story while playing through the original Geneforge which I just don't get playing the others. Near the end you also got the chance to pump up your character by using the Geneforge. Using the Geneforge in G4 was not quite as exciting.

A few names I have given my fyora's are:
Spot,Spike,Ein,Ed,erythrobreath,Torchlight
Names for my cryoas:
Icingdeath,Stamillizan
Names for clawbugs:
Pinchy,Sting
Name for my artila:
Ptyal
Name for a thahd:
Boy
Some of the names come from a animated series, others from Medical Terminology words, one is from a fantasy book, and another is from a video game, one is the name of a sword, and the rest were just made up. Can you guess which name came from the Geneforge game?
I love naming my creations and I have to admit when I go to absorb (desroy) creations so I can make newer stronger ones it bothers me just a little bit. :(

I like the background sounds as they are. Back when I was playing Geneforge I and was in town my roommate walked in and started talking about how he did not like being in a house with neibors so close by. He was like, see listen to that you can hear the neighbors talking. I had to point out that what he was hearing was my game. :D In one of the first areas of the game it is raining, and I really enjoy listening to the rain fall. Music in this type of game is really not necessay, even though the sounds are a bit repititious. The sounds sort of set the mood in the differant areas.

I would just like to say hello to the lurkers and registered users. I have been lurking in the forums since I first discovered Avernum III and Geneforge I a few years back.

I would like to make a few comments on the new Geneforge game. I ran through the demo in one evening and a day and I really like how the game is going. I am hoping to buy this game for my birthday in June. I really like the new graphics, especially the new look of Battle Alphas. I like how they expanded the differant classes, although I always lean towards the powerful shaper. I like the fact that you are only encumbered by what you are wearing. I have been picking up every item I could find, so that I could buy a few levels of creations, to be able to craft stronger creatures. I like that you can attack even if you only have one movement point left. So to recap, Geneforge IV=awesome. Graphics=good. Classes=good. Inventory=good. Battles=great.
