About singletons and arcane lore. . .

(a bit of a cheat ahead)

When I run a singleton party, I don't train in arcane lore or nature lore. Instead, whenever I come across a spell book or dig site, I go to the "edit party" screen and create a new custom character. Then, I train the custom character in the appropriate skill for the situation. Once I've dug up the object or read the tome, I delete the new character and return to my singleton adventure. This way, I save a lot of points for more fun uses.

Cheap, yes. But also effective.

For even more fun, I do the same for tool use in the early parts of the game--or at least until "unlock doors" becomes necessary.

Has anyone else seen a bug with acid in 1.0.1?

When I'm fighting in battles, sometimes monsters get an extra action before they die of acid damage.

Turn order for my party is usually
1) my fighters
2) the monsters
3) my mages/priests

When a monster is low on hp and dies of acid damage, it will sometimes get an extra attack right before my fighters' turn. The dying monster has already acted in the previous turn, and this extra attack is out of turn order (from previous combat rounds).

I've seen this a few times now in the demo area (haven't gone beyond it yet with this party) with a variety of monsters--none of them hasted. I also never noticed this problem in 1.0.

This is a little late now, but. . .

I had the same problem with Nodiacus in version 1.0 except that he nailed me through two closed doors. I was also playing as a singleton, and I had the luck of having this bug repeat. The first time Nodiacus killed me and he was behind a closed door and half a screen away.

As for the "Pit Ghoul waits", I had a similar problem south of Fort Draco while fighting cave crawlers above ground. The text "Ogre waits" and "Worg waits" (or maybe it was "Dire Wolf waits"?) appeared for no apparent reason. This was also while playing 1.0

I may have just triggered a new bug, and I think I'm being punished for stealing.

I'm playing a singleton party on normal, and I just entered the Formello mines area for the first time. For some reason, every box that normally contains items in this area is now empty. Also, every item on the ground is gone.

This includes the items protected by the thorny fungus in the southeast mine, any gear belonging to the miners, and every item in the mine with the splice-worm infestation. Goodwife Hortense still sells gear as normal. Also, a little to the south, the farms north of Formello don't have the same problem, so at least it's an isolated issue. I didn't see this bug on the list of 1.0.1 fixes, and I don't think I saw this bug posted anywhere else in the forums.

So. . .do I get a prize? ;)

I've got one.
In the second major Slith area, North of the castle,
I approached the lone giant, killed him and continued on my looting spree. When I left much later, I received dialogue about the giant charging at me. I somehow managed to avoid triggering the dialogue at the appropriate time.
