(remembers way back to sending Jeff emails using Compuserve from what must have been almost ten years ago) (remembers these emails containing mucho nerdy ideas) (remembers registering all these original Exile games and subsequently losing the codes and booklets before joining the ah-me) (wonders if Jeff keeps trivial info like all the weirdos that buy his games and their related codes) (decides that there is a special place reserved in hell for people who ask such questions) "Why-yes, Bob... I keep your decade-old Exile: Escape from the Pit reg codes on my frige next to the baby pictures. It just keeps me walkin' on sunshine, ya know." Hmmm. -------------------- "We need a small distraction. Do you happen to have an atomic bomb in your pocket?" Posts: 6 | Registered: Tuesday, June 29 2004 07:00 |

Yeah, I actually did this once. I like games where "karma" and "reputation" are involved as a tangible, such as oh-god-yes masterpieces like Interplay's Fallout and its even-better sequel. Uh, Nethergate + Evil: Turns out to be quite a challenge... this whole bad guy thing. You have to remember to pick the malevolent choice for even the most mundane things (not always clear given the potential plot twists), the game script is kinda skewed to you being a "good guy", you have to remind yourself to kill everything, become the CEO of a failing mega-consortium, pump up the forecast of annual earnings artificially, and sell the company under the shareholders noses, invade Iraq to cover up your failing presidency, etc. No... wait... wrong RPG. That's CNN. -------------------- "We need a small distraction. Do you happen to have an atomic bomb in your pocket?" Posts: 6 | Registered: Tuesday, June 29 2004 07:00 |

I vote YES for the Johnny Depp looking pirate monster stuffed with day-glo Nickelodeon slime! Oh, I'm so using this as my new PC graphic. Yeah... Yeah, his name is Dubious the Rogue. -------------------- "We need a small distraction. Do you happen to have an atomic bomb in your pocket?" Posts: 6 | Registered: Tuesday, June 29 2004 07:00 |

Wait a second... Wasn't a "Thompson" killed in the mines in Exile 2 / Avernum 2? Death by chitrach, my favorite. -------------------- "We need a small distraction. Do you happen to have an atomic bomb in your pocket?" Posts: 6 | Registered: Tuesday, June 29 2004 07:00 |

Quick: Let's blame *inanimate objects* and *modern media* to effectively mask the real issue: The sorry situation that society today has some shriveled lima beans between their legs in situations that can't be solved with money. This begs to bring up the point: WWGFTSD? What Would Giant Friendly Talking Spiders Do? I think Spider once said something along the lines of "sometimes you just gotta get rough with them chitrach-types, they don't listen to reason..." Spiderweb Software: Deep Moral Philosophy, Cute Babbling Arachnids ... I don't see Salmon as losing. It is, after all, a delicious fish. -------------------- "We need a small distraction.
