That doesn't happen for me on windows 98 with the same desktop resolution. That doesn't help you though. :(

Do you have any other games that change resolution that also has this problem?

Depending on what text editor you look at the files you don't see any line breaks and funny control characters instead. Thats why I asked. Its a formating issue more then a will it work issue.

Most mac text editors handle pc text files fine but not so much the other way around.

I'm using Vim so I can use either easily but I was wondering if it would be good to pick one or the other? If it was me I'd choose Mac because its only one character for the end of line instead of two.

Article - The Moral of the Story in Blades of Avernum Editor

I personally liked the plot of The Valley of Dying Things. I've only played the blades of exile version so I can't say if things changed. I didn't memorized the plot so sorry if this is off.

The school was too independent for the empire. It was quickly shut down with at least some of the people running it killed by someone else in the school who was more loyal to the empire. The people running it saw this coming and made a ghost to tell you how to get rid of the waste that was still there because of the machines that were used to get rid of it being shut down. The waste was just whatever was left from magical spells and such. I imagined the chemical waste from a school laboratory. It was gotten rid of in a furnace. It was probably done in a more controlled way then what is done in the end of the story.

I mostly liked it because it had the same feel as Geneforge or Resident Evil. The exploring a place left suddenly is in all these games. They are mostly setting and not characters.

A few of these articles seem to basically say don't write badly. Which is hard to do as amateurs who may be mediocre writers. I personally imagine having quite a hard time writing good dialog. Which is one of the things I love in a game or writing in general.

I personally don't mind good vs evil plots either. As long the characters and
settings are interesting.

If a SDF goes up 255 it is probably a unsigned character sized variable. That means that it can't hold negative values. It can only have the values from 0-255. 256 values, 256=2^8.

There isn't a common variable size that holds
-255 to 256.

Its a ftp option. passive has the client choosing the port to transfer data over, active has the server choosing the port.

http://slacksite.com/other/ftp.html

I have to use active to transfer files to my isp webserver because of their firewall. I can't say if that has anything to do with your problem.

The download I found for stuff expander on the aladdin website was bundled with trial version of stuffit and was 8 mb.

I've gotten the pdfs through a zip disk and a imac with a broken modem. :)

I'll upload them to my website in a bit.

I wondered if the documentation could be put up separately from the editor? I want to start reading about the editor but I don't want to have to download stuffit expander plus the whole mac download.

Thanks,
Corey
