doors, paths, and walkthrough?

In GF4, in Southforge hall as you enter from the cital gates. there is a door that cant be opened from that area or from the secure access hall. can that be opened or im not at that point of the game where i can?

Also i found a walkthrough for gf4, and i was wandering, do i need to go into each area in the order as it is in the walkthrough. ?

1. Those doors will open after the citadel is evacuated. There's nothing special behind them.

2. No, you can go through zones in whatever order you want, generally speaking.

3. A path to the SE? You should be able to follow it for a while and it will take you to the Shaper Camp.

Yeah, those doors open after chapter 1 (when you cross over into Ilya.) It's a useful shortcut if you decide to use the Southforge storage room to depot all your artifact building/excessive baton items.

Certain areas favor combat and others mechanics, so the choice does depend upon the character you create. Still the guide order should keep you from getting to an area before you can handle it.

Every time I play the game, I seem to do the zones in a different order. Only refer to the walkthrough if you get stuck, it's more fun that way.

Definitely don't follow a walkthrough area-by-area. You'll have much more fun if you use it only as a side reference, or if you want to find a specific spell/creation.
