I just went into the tower of Elderan and on the top level quick fire was released. I ran and left the level, but when i came back i couldn't get that wall to open again. Is there anything important back there? I can see some space with the far sight spell so i was wondering if there was a item or spellbook back there.

When you think about it, there'd be no safer spot to hide an important artifact. That is, if the artifact is rather resistant to fire. Otherwise, it's not such a good idea.

Getting to the artifact when you needed it might be problematic, though.

Artifacts are made to be used by adventurers only. Other wizards, monsters, demons, and so on may hoard them, but they can never use them.

—Alorael, who is glad, too. All it would take is one trigger-happy vahnatai with a phoenix egg and Tinraya could be much less fun.

Tinraya was fun?

I found it excruciatingly boring compared to the golems. But then again, with the ammount of skribbane your charaters must consume... :D

you enjoyed the golems?
those laserbeams were incredibly annoying.
Tinraya was a walk in the park compared to the golems factory

The golems were the game's real challenge I think. In Tinraya and then later Rentar's keep, it was all just brute force needed. And by that time you had plenty of it. The golems were by far the most enjoyable of the plagues.

But then again, I've won both Exile 3 and Avernum 3, and every time I defeated every plague before entering Tinraya.

Yay. Sounds as loads of fun. I'm gonna finally play Avernum 3 till the end. I can't wait.

Boy, I hated robots and golems ever since I was four. That didn't change untill now.

The cockroach plauge is best because you get to incinerate those SOB's with quickfire.
And forcing you to meet the Giant Intelligent Friendly Talking Spiders.
And lets not forget the Giant Intelligent Friendly Talking Roaches. :D

I personally liked the GIFTRs... they were, well... interesting. And they had names, which was a welcome change of pace from trying to find Spider.

It's good to see that I'm not the only one who likes the GIFTR's :)
