I'm in the Valley of Dying things, and my characters seem to be suffering from spontaneous AP loss. They are not suffering from any slowing spells or webs, but they seem to randomly have only 3 or 2 ap to use each turn. What's happening here?

They're too weighed down. It's called encumbrance- give your PCs more ranks in defense to counteract this. Or alternatively, take off whatever is weighing your PCs down. (Usually large suits of armor- the Chittin Plate Mail is a killer.)
