If you kill the book seller in RoR, there's a message that says that he dosen't like that and you die. I always want to kill the book seller.

I could never do that! However, I could copy it without looking at the script and leave that out. Then I could kill the book seller guy! :P

The bookseller is supposed to represent the scenario designer. It is also not supposed to be serious.

why do people here always want to kill some of the nonhostile creatures??? even if they are annoying?
that brings me to the idea to put a very annoying friendly creature in my scenario, which you need to do the main quest, so that all of the people who always kill these creatures couldn't solve it!

Humans are violent and impatient by nature. They seek to rid themselves of annoyances in the first way that they can think of, which is, more often than not when playing an RPG, to kill it, or, in some cases, defenestrate it(more commonly known as throwing something out of a window). However, in the Avernum games, defenstration of an annoyance isn't usually an option(throwing your computer out the window is BAD :P ). And that is why some people are driven to kill annoying NPCs.

~EDIT~

Personally, I don't kill things unless they attack me first, or I am REALLY bored and the NPC in question has outlived its use(i.e., I've finished everything there is to do in scenario, and I randomly decide to go on a killing spree.)

I don't kill people while I am really playing the scenario. I get bored and pick a scenario with the intention of killling off all the towns. :P

Already happens with the giant friendly intelligent talking spiders in valley of dying things. Just look to the number of posts on this board saying they killed the spider chief and now can't complete the scenario. Although those posts aren't as common as they used to be.
