Okay... I've been all over the dang school... how do I turn off the glowing doorways and where is the healing scepter? I know it's in the apothecary, but where is that?! *tears out hair*

You get the stone to open the green glowy doors from the friendly talking spiders.
Here's a list of what to do:
1.Find the Vahantai in the Library level.
2.Grill them for information about the plauge.
3.Go back to the GIFTS(Giant Intelegent Friendly Talking Spiders) and do their quest.

As for the wand. I dunno, someone else will be in to help

The wand is in the NE-aera of the students quarters, through the laboratory and some hidden doors. The last door needs some tool use skill.
btw: It's marked on the map in the walktrough.
