Profile In my current game of BoA in VoDT, I'd like to get as many NPCs to help my group of Nephil archers. I already have Bruning... Are there any other NPCs that could join my group? -------------------- -Zephyr Tempest, your personal entertainer Posts: 1779 | Registered: Monday, December 9 2002 08:00 |

Profile I can almost assure you that Bruning is the only NPC in VoDT. Isn't he enough? [ Sunday, June 06, 2004 16:12: Message edited by: Imban ] Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Profile He's in the Sweetgrove inn. You have to kill Elram before he'll join you. -------------------- -Zephyr Tempest, your personal entertainer Posts: 1779 | Registered: Monday, December 9 2002 08:00 |

Profile is there something wrong with my game? Because Bruning just joined even though I have four members, so now I have five. and, I cant see his inventory or control him. I thought maybe he would be good at fighting but he just does nothing. I thought you were supposed to have an EMPTY slot before someone could join you. Or is this how the game is supposed to be? Profile That is how it is supposed to be- you can not replace your own characters like A1,2, and 3 enabled you to do, so you're stuck with premade characters. Bruning (and any other NPCs) will assist you in a fight, and may also act on their own a bit, but other than that, that's all they do. -------------------- A few cats short of a kitten pot pie... Homepage He should be helping you in combat, though. NPC AI isn't always very smart, but archers usually do pretty well. He'll only fight when you're in combat mode, though, so if you're wandering around somewhere (or using your lead character to fight in town mode) and just expecting him to shoot at enemies then he won't. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Homepage In addition to what Thuryl and Schrodinger said ... when I'm in combat mode I've find that the NPCs will only fight if they can see the enemy. If you start a fight and the NPC is around a corner and can't see who you're fighting, they won't move or join in. -------------------- We meet and part now over all the world; we, the lost company, take hands together in the night, forget the night in our brief happiness, silently. -- Judith Wright My website Posts: 512 | Registered: Wednesday, February 12 2003 08:00 |

Homepage You can cast some spells on Bruning, such as heal and cure and maybe haste and war blessing. Select the spell you want and hit 5. -------------------- "I can't give you brains," said the Wizard of Oz to the Scarecrow, "but I can give you a diploma." - L. Profile I'm pretty you can cast any non-ressurection spell on an NPC that can be cast on your party. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Profile Vale infestation, which is slightly south of Marralis. *SLIGHT SPOILER AHEAD* | | | | | | There's a secret entrance by the bushes. Elram is in the NW corner. You can't make him hostile using speech unless you get the kill Elram quest. Profile Look for a circle of four tall standing stones, and walk into the middle of them. There's a depression in the terrain there too, if I remember correctly. -------------------- Z: "I just feel so insignificant." Psych: "You ARE. Profile After beating VoDT, I went into the scenario again and murdered a few townsfolk. I killed Bruning with one whack from my nephil, and it said he was very brave to die protecting people he didn't even know, which I thought was pretty funny. :) -------------------- "If you held a weapon to Fwiffo's head, he would say anything you wanted him to. Profile When I played VoDT, the first time I used that got rid of the waste, I panicked at the quickfire and jumped of the ledge. Unfortunatly(spelling?), I landed with Bruning right next to a closed gate and some quickfire. It killed him immediatly. I liked the message for two reasons; 1)I had had him for most of the game and 2)He wasn't protecting me, he was panicking. -------------------- Do not underestimate the power of the mechanical pencil.
