Is there any canon stuff on the language of the Nephilim? Established vocabulary, or even the name of the language? I know there's some stuff on Sliths that's not as developed as Novah, but I've never seen anything on Nephilim speech... -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. I'd recommend loading up some old Avernum 1 and 2 saves and looking at the signs around the Nephilm controlled areas near Formello. I seem to recall there was some description of what their writing looked like but beyond that I don't know.. If all else fails just make it up. -------------------- I assume my reputation for arrogant presumption precedes me Posts: 107 | Registered: Thursday, December 9 2004 08:00 |

No Nephilim writing. The signs - if we're referring to the same signs - were made by humans, but were defaced by Nephilim. In fact, I'm not sure if the Nephilim of Avernum even spoke a language other than the human one... -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. Not much has been said about Nephil language other than an emphasis on r's and other purring sounds. Akhronath also had some roots to Aizonic human dialects as well. -------------------- Your flower power is no match for my glower power! Posts: 3726 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

In that case, I can probably make it up as I go, in accordance with the pronunciation rules and the most dominant sounds. So I've done that. :) -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. I don't want to spoil everything for you, but I myself am making a "Nephilim language," for my own scenario. I don't want to start telling everything here in the open, but if you want, i can send you a PM, saying what exactly it is I'm doing. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Not necessary just yet. I suppose I'll get to see it when you finish the scenario. However, if you can publish your conlanging efforts without spoiling the scenario, you're welcome to post it in the encyclopedia in the Nephilim entry. That's what it's there for. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast.
