Hello to you, cave dwellers. I was just wondering if there is any kind of map available of the lands that the empire is controlling? Perhaps the creators never drew a map or made up a world, but I have no idea so I ask. I want to make a scenario, and I want it to be in a real part of whatever world was created for the games. Thanks. -------------------- Umm... yeah..! Posts: 8 | Registered: Friday, April 9 2004 07:00 |

There's no "official" map of the surface (other than Valorim, of course). Some members of the Blades community have made unofficial maps that are reasonably well-accepted among the community, if you want to use one of those for inspiration. They're only based fairly loosely on canon; the names of the continents and their general properties are known, but everything else has to be made up. The map of Valorim is the outdoors of Avernum 3/Exile 3. That's available at various A3/E3 sites. The three other continents have been named but not mapped, at least by Jeff. EDIT: To be slightly more useful than I was before, here's a maps site and the only reference we have to the other continents: "THE LANDS OF THE EMPIRE - The Empire, blessed power over us all, controls the four known continents. Aizo, the oldest, is the birthplace of the Empire, although the ruling seat is now on the continent of Pralgad. Vantanas is the smallest continent, but in many ways the richest, with its hot climate, fascinating fauna, and rich stores of gold and diamonds. And finally, there is the recently settled Valorim, which has a wild (though controlled) spirit." — a book in A3 [ Sunday, June 05, 2005 17:12: Message edited by: Kelandon ] -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Well, I did get a look at some of the maps before the server deleted the page or whatever happened, it's not available now it seems. I didn't quite understand the maps, however. Would anyone know if there is a mountain area in the world? Thanks for your help. Edit: Well, thanks for that map, Drake. Much easier to understand. If you're willing to wait long enough, we may get a much larger view of the world when Avernum 4 makes its debut. -------------------- Lt. Sullust Cogito Ergo Sum Polaris Posts: 2462 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

Avernum 4? Neat. I can wait, with a bit of luck they might even make a mountain/winter tileset for it as well. Then I wouldn't have to make my own. Thanks for the replies! -------------------- Umm... yeah..! Posts: 8 | Registered: Friday, April 9 2004 07:00 |

Aizo has a lot of heavily wooded and mountainous areas. -------------------- "At times discretion should be thrown aside, and with the foolish we should play the fool." - Menander ==== Drakefyre's Demesne - Happy Happy Joy Joy Encyclopedia Ermariana - Trapped in the Closet ==== You can take my Mac when you pry my cold, dead fingers off the mouse!
