One thing jumps out at me (junk deleted to prevent stretching):

beginstate LOAD_SCEN_STATE;

//Initialize Quests
init_quest(0, "... on.");
init_quest(1, "....");
init_quest(2, "... it.");
init_quest(3, "....");
init_quest(10, "....sos.");
break;

//Initialize Items
init_special_item(....");
init_special_item(1, "..");
Note the "break" before the special items. Your special items never get initialized.

EDIT: I have no idea if this causes an error. I just ran the whole thing through Alint and that's what it told me.

I got through it fine. I'm not sure what's wrong. Alint doesn't return any errors either.

I've submitted my review. It's a damned good first effort, and it's pretty good all around besides that. Rushed, but then again, you knew that.

Mariann said she'd allow minor updates after the deadline. You might still have a chance of getting any changes you need to make in if you work fast.

I'm on Windows. After Oakleaf gets Ephesos out of the cell, there's that cutscene like "You walk into the center of..." and my party walks through a wall into some blackness. At that point, I can move the mouse, but nothing happens and clicking doesn't do anything. When I press Ctrl+Alt+Del it says "Not Responding," and I use the task manager to close BoA.

EDIT: Also, where in blazes is Mad Ambition? IIRC, TM said that he submitted it for the contest...

Ephesos, your scenario looks very pretty. I like the trees and stuff. But it's unplayable on Windows. Some of the druids don't talk, and I had to hack your code to bits to finish the game (Okay, possibly an understatement).

Windows people, this is what I did:

In t2Temple D: (Place the trigger anywhere convenient using the BoA Editor)
beginstate 13;
move_to_new_town(11,16,25);
print_str("HAX!");
break;
In t11Klortaer:
beginstate 0;
set_flag(11,1,0);
message_dialog("...","...");
(Remove the set_state call.)
break;
Then, whenever you want to continue the scenario, set state 11,1 to 1 using the editor.

One last thing: You might want to change the name from "Klortis" to something that doesn't give me the giggles.

My windows are dirty too. Excellent scenario to the aerie, and even the error is good. My singleton just kept walking north. Walking and walking. Finally he go trapped in the solid stone wall (or so I imagine) and BoA was so upset it cried.

I hope that you get it fixed and sent to Mariann soon.

yeah I get the same error. It says 'entering Klortis' Eyrie (sp) then the playing screen goes black and it doesnt respond.

Okay... so at least I know why the special items weren't quite working (thank you Kelandon on that one... not sure why I put a break there). I hope they accept the update, though I'm glad that it wasn't something bigger.

About the dragon's name... you've got to be pretty dirty-minded to mix it up that much.

Sorry about this scenario hating Windows... after all, I'm using a Mac. Just didn't anticipate the issues it would cause, and I just wanted it to get into the contest (AND it's my first scenario).

EDIT: And about the general prettiness, I've got to thank the wonderful artists of the Louvre for that one. I only made the backwards & corner waterfall pieces, as well as the corner fence pieces.

Ephesos - This scenario is particularly pretty. You did a great job laying out the landscape.

As an aside… I also made that association with the dragon's name, as they do sound similar.

She's right. That really is a Freudian name, no two ways about it.

Not sure why you're keeping it- you make certain that you don't care much about the dragon with the ending's being rushed and all. Plus, remember- JV will be judging, and he runs irony central...

How can my group become druids? I helped every town in the valley prior to meeting Ephesos in the sanctuary. He gave me the quest to spread good-will. But I have already done that. Why wont he let me join. Have I missed a town perhaps?

I have the same problem: Brother Oakfield doesn't talk to me anymore. I helped every town, except Fort Ouranil where the Major said he doesn't want any help from adventurers.
And there is a strange text window when I go to a point in SE: Brother Oakleaf (hunh? was he not to be in the hill cave?) tells me to get some artifacts from the temple. Any clues?

:) Ephesos, this is a marvellous landscape! Congatulations. I love the peaceful ambient.

edit: never mind, I'm a druid now, didn't talk with the forger.
But Brother O. still nags about that artifacts. I've been in every temple. The special item he said he was giving me does not appear in the list, btw.

Oatleaf said he would give me some special artifacts but he didn't. At least they don't show up. And now he keeps going angry when I meet him at SE *sighs*

OakLEAF... not that hard to remember.

About the special items, though they don't show up, they should still work. I sent a fix into Spiderweb, so that should be up soon.

If you want to fix it yourself, move the break in LOAD_SCEN_STATE (in the druidspt1.txt file) to after the special items. Again, thanks to Kelandon for catching that one.

Good to see that people can still figure out what to do in the scenario, though... can't wait to make more of an effort (and a less-rushed one) on the sequel.

EDIT: to spy.there, Oakleaf doesn't give you the artifacts, he just tells you to go get them.

I looked at the script, and got confused. But I did manage to fix it anyways. It seems the group_dist_to_loc call wanted arguments (0,16,17)
