This is just a general strategy query. I'm playing Diplomacy with the Dead currently, and have run across a group of five vampires. I managed to defeat them with the help of an invulnerability potion and a heroic brew, and many, many reloads. Are there any strategies that make them simpler, especially that could stop them from spawning other vampires? Posts: 2242 | Registered: Saturday, April 10 2004 07:00 |

I had to do that a couple times at first. Use a lot of magic and kill them very fast. Repel Spirit seems to work pretty well at level three. Sword is fast if you are high level. Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

Make sure you are carrying a deli sandwich when battling the Vampires. All your problems will be solved by that simple item addition. -------------------- The Knight Between Posts. Posts: 2395 | Registered: Friday, November 2 2001 08:00 |

Try War Blessing or another spell for magic shielding. You should never have to use invulnerabily or divine protection to kill vampires. Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

Oh yeah, anything that gives you magic resistance is pretty much concentrated awesomeness against spellcasters. Cast Radiant Shield at a decent level and suddenly you're getting fireblasted for 15 damage instead of 100. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Haste your characters before you fight them. then cast radiant shield. Send fighters in for hand to hand. Have mages and cleric zap the vampires with repel spirit. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. I think the particular combat he's fighting is an outdoor one, which makes pre-combat hasting tricky. Fortunately, that's what hasting potions are for. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

It is a food item. Ignore VCH, as he is merely being a generalised git. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

It is a good idea to drink some Gremlin Merlot with your deli sandwich before you rest to recharge your spells and hit points. It does not help you with fights though. :P -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. It was the fight started from the outdoors. Radiant Shield? Would I have that spell by now? Can it be casted from the map? Posts: 2242 | Registered: Saturday, April 10 2004 07:00 |
