I've done a search and "BoA" looks exactly like "Avernum 3", with a better screen layout.

Do they play differently? Is the BoA Editor the big feature?

Can someone point me to an answer or just tell this Avernum 3 junkie in simple language, please? Ta. ;)

Better interface? Are you kidding me?

Of course BOA is Avernum 3, and most senarios wont be like Avernum 3, and it does play differently as there is "tweaked" spells, new special skills system for starters.

The big feature would be to make and play senariors of course :P

Yep, the scenario editor's the main draw. There are already several high-quality third-party scenarios available, and more will be coming very soon.

Blades of Avernum has four shorter scenarios bundled with it, all made with the editor. And there are other user-created scenarios too.

So it's for adventurers who've beaten Avernum 3 and are hungry for more, but outside the A3 plotline?

TimberWolf, I had another look. You're right. ;)

Having beaten A3 is not really necessary. BoA is for anyone who wants to make/play third-party scenarios (or the four Jeff Vogel scenarios, but I think most people would agree that A3 is better than the JV scenarios, while most people would probably also agree that if BoE tells us anything, BoA will eventually have scenarios that blow A3 out of the water).

Have you even PLAYED Canopy or APF?

Nevermind the fact that even Bahss is clearly superior.

TM, not everyone hates Jeff Vogel's games. Yes, I have played APF, and I enjoyed A3 much, much more. APF is good, but I liked A3 better. From what I hear of Canopy, I will have liked A3 much better than it once I've played it, too.

Seriously? I was completely unaware of who Melvin was.

EDIT: Looking back on his Desp posts, though, it seems very likely you're correct.
